How many languages do you speak?

That is good, I speak fluent English and Spanish but I want to learn French too.

I attempted to learn Spanish a few years ago but the masculine/feminine suffix and the backwards speech was sooooooo annoying. Maybe in the future I'll try again or maybe learn French or something.

I just speak English. I have attempted Spanish, but I just know the numbers and the days of the month. I also know some other words, bit I could not put tem into a sentence.

I think other languages are beautiful and I think is wonderful when people preserve their native language in this country. It is a great pity to lose your native language, in my opinion.

I speak English, however, I do speak a little Spanish. When I was working for the Navy, I was sent overseas to Rota, Spain. I spent about 4 months there. I taught myself enough Spanish to converse with the residents there.

I always say I speak two languages. One being english and the other being Brooklynese. LOL

Well, I came from an Spanish speaking country so I can pretty much speak, read and write anything in that language, I moved to the USA about 25 years ago and learned English, but for the people that thinks that English is the only language you need to know, well let me give you this example, if "God forbid" you need to visit say Spain or Russia or China for that matter and their way of thinking is the same as you, you come to my country even if it is as a Tourist you need to speak to me in MY language because I do not English not do I want to learn, you are in my country speak to me in my language, then what will you do.

Please think about that before you go all puff and huff about the language, I agree that if a foreigner comes to live in the USA needs to make and effort to learn the language just like me and my parents, husband and brothers did when we moved here, but don't close your mind to learning some other language.  Besides did you know that SPANISH is spoken in more countries around the world that any other language!  I mean as the primary language, English and French are the other ones.  So please be a bit more open minded.

My 2 daughters speak English but they have made the effort to learn Spanish so they can speak to the family that still lives back home, including one set of Grandparents, and they are as American as you.

I am fluent in English. I used to be able to have conversations in Spanish, but I haven't practiced in a while. I want to learn Japanese and French, too.

English ,,,,,,,,  I live in the United States,,,,,,,,,,  That's all I need to speak and if anyone things I need to learn Spanish to bad,,,,  it ain't gonna happen.   If you can't speak English so I can understand go back to where ever you came from till you learn English !!!!!!

This country was created by immigrants, many of which speak better English and have better grammar than you.

I think people with the "go back to where you came from if you can't speak English" mentality are missing great opportunities for expanding their life experience.  I have had some great conversations communicating with some people who are trying to learn English.  They really appreciate your going an extra step or two to understand them.  Some of us seem to forget that our not-so-long-ago ancestors came from other countries.  Unless you are Native American, your cannot say your ancestors from centuries back are American.  If you only want to speak English, it might be good to also learn to write it.
