Sorry to see Brian Williams had to take himself off the nightly news. I liked him but if you are going to report the news you need to be able to be trusted. Obviously he was trying to make himself a part of the story instead of reporting it. Hopefully he will learn from his mistakes.

I just read where Brian Williams is being taken off the air for six months without pay. I think he got off easy, considering that when Dan Rather made a mistake he was eventually taken off the air altogether.

I think the punishment was a little extreme but that is just my opinion, he messed up but who hasn't you know?

feel bad for him,,,   punishment was a little harsh.  But if your gonna report on things,,,  you better not get caught lying about it. Cause it will come back sooner or later to get ya.  Just like it did !!!  wish him luck and hope he can come out of this a different person,,,  or move on to something else

he can think about it for next 6 months without pay maybe his time off will help him tell truth when he reports stories.

Competition in this world is fierce.   He can be easily replaced with an honest person who doesn't make stuff up.  The news should be facts, not fiction.    If those people he was with finally came out & said it wasn't true, what else has he been making stuff up about.    Tell the news truthfully, or get off the stage & let someone else report it.   That's my opinion.

How many people remember all the details of an event 10 or 15 years ago.  He was trying to make a tribute to the pilot.  He apologized quickly, but I guess because everyone else is perfect it was not good enough.    To much over a  slip of the memory.

He should have been telling the truth, after all it was his job, but he took a page from Hillary and got caught fuding the truth. Maybe when he comes back on he will do a better job.
