Are friends really expected to do whatever a friend ask them to do. Are you supposed to get mad at them if they say no. I'm not talking criminal acts or breaking laws.

A friend does what they want to do, you can guide them, but doing bad thing's isn't much of a good idea!

i think friends can say no but needs to help when they can unless they are helping so much that they are tired of it. maybe they have things in their own life that are more important right now.  I dont tell my friends everything that is going on in my life.

Just be happy if your friends are there if you needed them but don't expect to much because they have there life too.

There's somethings you shouldn't be forced to have to do even if it is your friend a real friend wouldn't put you in a situation to hurt or harm you

This is the second thread you have started asking the exact same question.  I am curious as to what a friend did not do and you are mad about OR what you did not do and someone is mad at you....

Everyone needs to have boundaries, it's healthy.  We need to take care of ourselves.  Like the airlines teach:  put your oxygen mask on first, then put one on your kid because if you pass out you won't be there for your kid.  If you ask a friend for help and they refuse sometimes they're probably just taking care of themselves.  Getting mad won't help the situation, it'll just make you miserable and drive them away.  Perhaps you could ask them for suggestions as to how you can get/so what you need.

Friendship has many different levels, but my own criteria of a true friend is someone to trust, enjoy time with and also doesn't have the intention of takingadvantage of the other person.  I think when people know each other well, people know there are limits that shouldn't be abused. Asking continual favors is usually not one that will define a lasting friendship in my eyes.

Well I don't think friends are ALWAYS supposed to do what you ask.... Talk to your friend and work it out. Friends are rare- keep them

No a friend is not supposed to necessarily do what you ask them. A friend should have respect for you whether or not you choose to do something they ask. Sometimes a friend might get mad if you don't do something they ask but I assume the two of you are still friends because you know how to talk about the things that bother you and find solutions to your problems while realizing any limitations that either of you have.

Not me personally I sometimes listen to situations around me or something my kids are going through, or even television shows sparks a question in me to ask what other may do?
