How do you measure success? Is it by money, status, family or something else?

I measure my own success by how happy I am.  When I take care of my health, I do what I can to earn money for myself and I give and receive love in my relationships....I feel happy and successful.

Thanks for a great question.
Have a great day!

I agree with sherryinutah.  Success is, in my case, how happy I am.  Sure I would love to be rich, but not all people who are rich are happy.  I have a family I love who love me back, I have close friends who I cherish, a nice house, food on the table, can pay our bills, and am working on getting my health back.  What more could I want?  I think I am successful.

I think that it is by the number of people who love you. How happy you are. If you are not happy, I can't see feeling successful. Money and status cannot bring you love. It really can't be bought. Success is measured differently by others. BMaston12

:) Success is a way of life. It is also difficult to measure because it means different things to different people. For me, Success and Contentment run very close together.  :)

success to me is how I can make others happy. Most of the time making someone happy is a very simple thing. like a smile or telling them that they are important to you making their favorite meal etc.
when people want lots of money or fame that is up that   person to strive for. If that person reaches that goal  chances are they won't be happy  unless they have found a way to make others happy along the way :peace: :snowflake:

My definition of success varies. Today for example, I'm successful because I finally started working on a childrens story covered in a layer of dust. I said I was going to do it and I did! So today's definition is follow through.

I think that success is defined by how well you do at a variety of things while maintaining balance.  I don't think that you can be a jack of all trades but I think that you can do exceptionally well at many of them. I think that I have had success as a father because my children are doing great at sports, school and keeping out of trouble. I think that I have been successful financially because I work hard, save a lot, minimize unnecessary expenses and my annual income exceeds the average median income by a fairly large amount.  I have been somewhat unsuccessful at hitting the gym enough/maintaining my health.  I have been unsuccessful at balancing work and family as it seems that I am always working.  I work seventy to ninety hours a week.

Success is accomplishment. When you can make the thing (or combination of things) you want happen (a house, a car, graduation, a baby, etc), that is success.

I measure success by the way my heart feels when I accomplish a task. My success may not merit success for the next person due to the fact that my goals are not the same as everyone else.  My success, in many cases, falls in line with spiritual principles versus material values that may determine success for others.
