I was shopping tonight for last minute Christmas gifts and as I went out to the parking lot and was placing the cart on the side I noticed a black wallet on the ground. Opened it up and the 1st thing I noticed was a young males school ID from a near by high school in grade 11. Then I opened the wallet further and saw a wad of cash in it. My heart went out to the kid that lost it  so I tried calling his towns local police dept, they told me to call my police dept and to drop it off to them or call the state police. ALL i wanted was to leave my phone number for the kid in case he reported his wallet lost so he could contact me and I could bring it to him. I won't leave it with the PD because ever since I had a house fire back when I was a kid, the local PD and firemen stole jewelry and money from a strong box that was not burnt, plus I work with a lot of cops and have seen a lot of unfortunate political favors and thieving going on. So NO one is going to help me reach out to this poor kid who is probably devastated, thinking he lost ALL of his money and was probably out Christmas shopping. Well guess what? I did some investigating of my own and found him on facebook and messaged him and hopefully will hear from him to return his wallet with everything in tact! NOT looking for anything in return except for the expression on his face when he sees there are still good people in the world who have good intentions and good faith!  :angel11:

That's awesome of you!  Glad to hear that you found who the kid was.  I was going to suggest going to the school and maybe leaving your phone number for the kid there.  Hopefully, he'll contact you through Facebook.  I'd love to be a fly on the wall when you return his wallet, too.  You're a good person.  Something this world is severely lacking in today.

That's a very good thing you did, and I hope that young man messages you back soon. You will be blessed for your good deed.

That is a great thing you did. I bet you felt that warm feeling inside when you do a good deed. Brightens your day doesn't it.

WOW you would think that if someone lost a wallet and you messaged him on FB he would have got back to you by now :o  Seems a little strange and even suspicious in the sense maybe something happened to him, who knows? No matter what you did the right thing and maybe you have his address as well and can actually go to his house if you think it is a safe place to go.  Hopefully you do get it back to him and he appreciates what you did, after all it could be his drug money for his next party lol.  Hopefully he will give you a reward because that would be the right thing to do for him, as right as people giving tips in restaurants. I would not be surprised if he didn't though.  I once found money in a swimming hole when I was like 8, it was muddy water and I just happened to feel it on the bottom, the punks gave me nothing out of the $30 and I know they were going to party with it, oh well, I did the right thing :highfive:

what a wonderful thing that you have done.  i know a lot of people who would have just taken the money and tossed the wallet sad to say there are not many people like you left at least in my personal experience most are only out for themselves.

That's a good story.  Sometimes there are a lot of road blocks to doing the right thing.

There are so many stolen wallets in this world. I am very glad you found one of those ones. At least, no one is using stolen data.

Why not put an inquiry about it in your local paper.
