Christmas Season
« on: December 16, 2014, 05:23:52 am »
Thirty days or more of Christmas music, long lines for shopping, letter carriers overloaded.....Christmas isn't just one day.
And it isn't about material things. It's Jesus' birth.
There is a countdown to Christmas.
Someone asked me if I was ready for Christmas and I replied "it isn't here yet."

"Christmas is every day; every day is a day for "giving".

I agree with you, although I make the choice to listen to gaudy Christmas music (which I only listen to on Christmas day), I will not shop on Black Friday and I refuse to wait on long hideous lines that will only make me frustrated! Jesus is the reason for the season! Christ the Lord was born Christmas day and everyone should care more about giving than receiving! :angel11:

Amen to that!  Thank you for this important reminder and for putting the season into perspective for us.  Merry Christmas!

I think the Christmas season has become way too commercialized.  Ads everywhere for stuff to buy.  We sometimes forget about the Baby Jesus, whose birthday we are supposed to be celebrating.

I was stuck in horrible Los Angeles traffic today (it rained & people don't know how to drive here in the rain, oh & there were mudslides that closed parts of the freeway).    It was nice hearing the Christmas songs on the radio while we all inched along, much better than all the pointless DJ banter during other times of the year.

I enjoy Christmas as much as anybody else. But lets put all of our want to the side and focus on Jesus Christ this year.

I  Christmas.   We enjoy all of the goings on with Christmas.  The Christmas Music, the special activities and food.   We don't shop much the last week before the holiday because of the mobs.
