Vitamins

Are the vitamins can make you feel better? For me I can`t feel the difference. Only maybe because I don`t take it every day, most of the time I forgot to take it.

That's a tough one for me.  I take vitamins but mostly what I recall reading says the vitamins probably don't do that much but now that my system is used to the extra dose it may be detrimental to stop taking them.  I have slowly weaned myself off some supplements and will likely continue to do so as the evidence for taking vitamins appears to be mixed at best.

I have also heard mixed reviews on weather vitamins really do that much good or not, but having said that, I do take them. I take a mulit everyday and then for that is supposed to target skin, nails and hair. I don't know if they are working, but I guess if take correctly they will not hurt.

I stopped taking my multivitamin a long time ago just because the brand we get is a huge horse pill and expensive, and taking vitamins even on a full stomach normally makes me feel really nauseous. I'm not totally opposed to trying again though.  Might be helpful.

I've heard both sides of the argument. For me some times I just don't eat as well as I should and a multivitamin is just insurance. I have had a good experience with nettle and ginger root supplements for my sinuses.

When I don't take my multi-vitamin, I feel like something's not quite right.  It's hard to describe, but my body is telling me it needs whatever is in it.  It's not a missed habit feeling, but something else.

I also take magnesium and that definitely had an effect.  I used to suffer from constant muscle spasm cramps - as I work out a lot.  Then ready that athletes and people as they age, may need to take magnesium supplements to help overworked muscles relax to get proper rest between workouts.  The recommended dosage is 3 per day, but I started with one, and after a couple days my spasms were noticeably better.  Then I upped to 2 capsules and now I rarely have any muscle spasms.  So I know the magnesium made a difference for me.

I take Vit. D since living in the Northern climes doesn't allow your body to produce enough, esp. in the winter when there is little sunlight during the day and during the time when I'm inside at work. I also take Vit. C and Zinc when I feel like I'm coming down with an illness to help boost my immune system. They definitely do have an effect, but not where you'd actually feel something. Sometimes the large multivitamins have too much that your body doesn't use, and so gets flushed down the drain, so if you keep to a well-balanced diet, you probably don't need a multivitamin but rather just certain ones that you think might be lacking.

I don't really feel any different, at least not that I can tell.  I'm simply trusting my doctor that they are helpful.

I've tried a lot of different vitamins and felt that a lot of them really didn't do much for me.  I now stick with Nature Made Multi for Her 50+.  I buy the gel caps, and I really like them.  These vitamins do make me feel like I'm getting some benefit.  If I ever feel run down, I'll use Nature Made's "Super B Energy Complex" and their chewable Vitamin C.  These too, work for me.  Out of all the vitamins I've tried, Nature Made is my favorite.  Their vitamins have no artificial flavors, preservatives or starch and are gluten-free.

This is a question that I'm not sure will ever be answered to anyone's complete satisfaction. I take all kinds of vitamins; whatever they say is good for this and that. Not sure if I ever feel much different except I kind of having the feeling that B Complex helps me from experiencing so much stress. I also eat celery for the same thing. It's supposed to calm you. My momma told me that long before I read about it.

Camomile tea is supposed to do that too. I drink it before I go to bed. My momma told me about that too. I believe in taking anything on the chance that it may help you because I don't think it can hurt you to take extra vitamins, unless you're talking about your pocketbook.  :moneymouth:
