Yoga for pain
« on: December 07, 2014, 03:52:55 am »
Has anyone tried yoga to help chronic pain. Three of my doctors want me  to try it and
says it will help my pain. So I rented a dvd called "Yoga in bed" and that looks like something
I can do and I am going to rent "Easy yoga for easing pain".

Let me know if yoga helps you.

Yoga can definitely help with chronic pain.  One thing to go with it though, is eating right.  If you eat right, I promise that all of your pain will cease.

I've never done yoga specifically for pain, but in general it's all about stretching things to relax them and getting new blood into each area.  So yeah, I think it will help in the long run.  Good luck.

It should be of help to you. I did it for a short time about 4 years ago, just by watching instructional videos online. It did stretch me out well and made me more flexible and limber. That's always a good thing. If you take it easy, it could be a really good addition to anything else you're already doing for your pain. Just don't try cardio yoga -- that kicked my butt!!!

Yoga can definitely help with chronic pain.  One thing to go with it though, is eating right.  If you eat right, I promise that all of your pain will cease.

I'll second that.

People with mobility issues can also do chair yoga.  Yoga is gentle and gets things flowing right throughout your body.  You can also try Tai Chi for gentle movement exercise that gets your energy flowing correctly.

Whichever you choose do combine it with a healthy diet.  Dr Oz has introduced us to many experts with a variety of ideas for healthy eating.

One thing to do is add turmeric to your food daily.  Just a pinch, you won't even taste it most of the time.  It fights inflammation which causes pain and disease.  Cayenne and other spicy peppers also help with pain.  And the best thing is they don't have side effects.

I do yoga and it helps with the pain. I'm more flexible now than I was before.
