Holiday Traditions

I don't know about everyone else; but, I like to create ways to feel the spirit of Christmas.

What traditions do you have that help you get in the mood for the holiday?

Is it all about spending time with family, for you?

I don't spend time with family during the holidays.  I usually spend time with my Cedar City family; which is; the friends I've acquired in this area who aren't spending time with their family members, either.

On Christmas Eve we go to a Presbyterian Church where we sing Christmas songs, hear the Christmas Story, light candles and think about the Christ child.  Then we all go out to Denny's to enjoy some food and each other's company.

What do you do? 

Let's share ideas so maybe we can each adopt some new traditions.

we usually get together with the granddaughters and go see christmas lights..we also have christmas meals together with the family...nothing sweeter than watching the light in your granddaughters eyes at opening up presents...and we also watch a lot of christmas movies like the classics

Light seasonal candles, play Christmas music, put up decorations, and ride around and look at Christmas lights at night.
