I am not sure if every state has the same rules but they will check everything in the baby bag before you walk through a scanner.

You can go on line or call the facility you are going to visit and they will tell you everything.  They will definitely go through everything you  bring for the visit.  But if you call ahead it should make it a lot easier to actually get in to see your daughter.  It is usually a very limited amount of items you can take in with you.

You need to call them and ask them if you want to know for sure.  No one on here can tell you.  Just tell you what they "think".    I am not understanding if she has been in there since March which is 9 months ago how are you taking her 1 month old daughter to see her?  She had the baby in prison??  Not sure how long you will be staying but I would thtink you could possible take a diaper.  They won't let you take a big diaper bag because you could sneak drugs, weapons, or other stuff in.  Not saying YOU would but it amazes me at ways people have tried to sneak drugs and other stuff in to prisoners.

Several years ago the church I was going to the preachers daughter was in prison and I sent her a card and included a small candy cane and they took that before they gave her the card.  I had no idea you couldn't send something like that.  But I have never been in jail nor any close family so I am not up on the rules.

I have never heard of them doing this for visitors because they are watching you when you are visiting.  It won't be a private visitation.  They will probably search you.  I know they do a cavity search of prisoners if they leave for any reason before they are allowed back in.

I've only paid a visit to a prison one time.  It was not a nice experience for me the visitor which I took offense to at the time as I'm a law abiding citizen and didn't feel as though they had the right to be so rude to me.  Good luck.  Let us know how it goes.

No idea, probably best to call and find out their regulations.

The prisons have rules.  If you go into a prison they do have a right to search you or anything you take in.  You know that before you go.  I don't think employees have a right to be rude to people but I am sure they deal with a lot of stuff you would not dream of and there is a reason they have the attitude they have.  Doesn't justify it but unless you have worked in a job like that and seen first hand how they are treated you wouldn't understand.  Most people in prison think they are there unfairly.  Their crime did not deserve a jail sentence.  Or they did not do it. lol.  Yeah right.  And most people's family are rude to the jail employees who are just trying to do a job.  It's like on my job...when people walk up to me and smart off, tell me I am stupid, or are just in general a jerk - no matter how hard I try it tends to effect my attitude the rest of the day.

I have to agree with the previous comments.  I would call the prision before I visited to find rules.  You might find the prision's rules and regulations if they have a website.  I highly doubt they will do a cavity search on you, but they might do a "pat down" on you.  Good luck.

Each facility has different rules. I unfortunately visited several different prisons and each had different rules. I would call the facility, some facilities though give you a diaper to change the child in front of the officer. They do search you and the child.

I have never been on a prison visitation, so i would have no idea what the prerequisites are to visit someone in prison.  Possibly you can call the county of prisons for instructions, it there is such a place.

How did your visist go?  Not being able to visit your daughter since March seems like extreme cruelty to me.......no idea why your daughter is there, but seems like March to December is a LONG time to not be allowed to have visitors.

I think you should give them a call to find out for sure.... I have no idea; I have never known anyone in prison, but, I am sure they could tell you their rules if you give them a call!  Better safe than sorry!  Good luck to you and your daughter!

I would not think it was not allowed but more that she is in another state.  And usually if prisoners are not allowed visitors there is a reason and it is not unreasonable.  I do not know why this woman is in jail but most people who are there deserve to be there.  I have a cousin who has been in jail for a few weeks.  She was in jail on Thanksgiving.  Don't know if she will be out by Christmas.  I don't feel sorry for her.  She is there by her own stupid choices.  I do kind of feel bad for her youngest son.  The sad thing is he is being told things to make him think the police are bad people.  Some of them are.  But his mother is a pos who is in jail because she refuses to follow the rules of society, uses drugs, drinks and drives, and makes threats that will get you locked up.  Smh.
