No I think that people who venture out for black friday sales are risking their lives.

I went right after my exercise class this morning at 6:30am.   It was very not crowded, black Friday is becoming a good day to shop now since most of the stores open Thursday & pre sell online the day before - like Target did.   This has reduced the drama associated with prior Black Fridays.  Even the streets & freeways were not crowded & I live in the Los Angeles area, so that is saying something.   No waiting, no crowds, empty parking & parked up close to an outdoor shopping complex with Target, ToysRUs, Kohls, etc...; however, most of the good deals, the door busters, were sold out be the time I got to Target at about 6:35am this morning.   I was done by 8am & the crowds were picking up, but not crazy crowds or even Saturday/Sunday crowds.

Last 2013 Black Friday I ventured out to Sam's Club to get a video game significantly reduced, it was also the same way, dead.

Most of those door busters were on sale online Thanksgiving this year, good until sold out online then you had to go to the store to find it.  So really not even a need to go.

flyingmonkey- It also reduces the sales.  They have the huge sales on Thursday afternoon and Thursday evening now.

premar16- Why be home with their family?  Thursday is the holiday.

To answer the OP.  No I did not go shopping.  Too many stupid people.  I don't like crowds or putting up with idiots fighting over a few dollars.  Or waiting in an endless line while a cashier slower than a person that's been dead for 15 years chats and inspects every item they are ringing up.

I ventured out but not for Black Friday shopping.  Lol  I just had some errands to run and a few things to get from the grocery store.  It wasn't too bad.  ;)

Was going to go out, but the weather made staying in the better choice.

I didn't find any deals yet but I did volunteer at our local thrift shop. The proceeds benefit the scholarship funds for graduating high school seniors. Our Sales were almost double what they normally are. We gave $40,000 plus in scholarships last year. We are hoping to top that this year@ :turkey: :turkey: :turkey:
