I will be cooking the traditional Thanksgiving feast with the help of my family members - Turkey, homemade cornbread dressing, gravy, green bean casserole, 3 bean salad, sweet potatoes, cranberries, dinner rolls and for dessert - dirt cake.  Lots of good eating. :turkey:

We are in the middle of a big move so we have decided to go out to dinner for Thanksgiving. But we typically make Thanksgiving an all day thing. I would make snacks the day before so we can munch on something while we watch football and wait for the turkey to cook. Snacks include cheese and crackers, trail mix, and little bit size hot dogs.  While my husband watches football and checking on the turkey. I'm in the kitchen making the side dishes, which consists of mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, green beans, and sweet potato casserole. And desserts, which last year was strawberry short cake and apple pie.

Don't think we are cooking this year. Too much time to do all that stuff this time around so we are going to the in-laws for thanksgiving. I'm not exactly a Betty Crocker type so cooking for the holidays comes few and far in between!

I don't ever cook for Thanksgiving. I spend the day with my family and my mom does the cooking.

 :silly:
I'm hosting a dinner party for 10-12 people.  Our menu consists of the following:

1) One Turkey roasted with yummy spices and butter - my oven
2) Cornbread stuffing casserole - my little sister's
3) Sweet potato casserole - my little sister's
4) Green bean casserole - with crunchy fried onion rings and mushroom soup
5) Broccolli with cheese sauce - Store bought by yummy Mr. Giant in the frozen section
6) Rustic mashed potatos (leave peelings on) - big sister's famous crockpot recipe
with turkey gravy(delicious brand name - jarred)
7) Store bough rolls and butter - grocery store bakery
8) Homemade pecan pie (my hubby's favorite)
9) Store bought pumpkin pie with whip cream (thanks to Marie C. and M.W.)
10) Pumpkin cheese cake (my little's sister homemade recipe)

 :highfive:
That's a lot of food. I have "to-go" containers ready and don't plan on cooking for 3 days.
My cats will be happy-campers too with various parts of leftover turkey.

Happy Thanksgiving!  Enjoy food, football and family time.
