Dry Skin problem
« on: November 13, 2014, 03:48:55 pm »
Anybody has a dry skin problem? How do you moisturize your skin?

I have psoriasis and sometimes I just can't control my dry skin   :(

I highly recommend using Aloe Vera that is if you are not allergic to it.
Aloe has worked miracles on my skin, and hair. I have an Aloe Vera plant that
I cut a small piece of it off, and open it up, and put that on my skin. Aloe is great
for over 200 skin conditions.  :)

My mom is 104, and boy does she have dry skin!  I try to keep her moisturized with a lotion that contains Melaleuca oil.  It's the best I've found for all kinds of skin conditions.  I like Aloe Vera, too, and use the plant as linsanna, above, does.

Winter skin is the worst for me, I use baby oil right out of the shower then follow up with lotion, sometimes that doesn't work and unfortunately just scratch.

I have problems with Rosacea on my face, and my daughetr suffers from eczema, the Aveeno lotion works very good for her, EUCERIN is also good.  They might work for you, but my husband bought at the natural store the other day ALMOND OIL and it has worked miracle on my face for that ROSACEA's dry skin.

I go through times when my hands are very dry and nothing was helping, so I tried some cream called Working Hands from O'Keeffe's, and it has improved my skin.  They also have a cream for feet, which is helping as well.  It's a little tacky though, so best to use before bed.

My skin has been so dry the last few months, but once they get my thyroid straightened out it should get better. I am using an apothecary lotion from Watkins. it has grape seed oil, apricot and macadamia oil It works grate. I use it about 1/2 hour after a shower. at first it feels a little oily and then just smooth's out. Watkins has been around well over 100 years. I can remember grandma ordering it  from the Watkins man. Now you can go online and order it. In fact I used to sell it, but I don't anymore, but I still order it.

No one mentioned drinking lots of water and keeping humidifiers going during this cold weather. That can cure a multitude of ills, including dry skin.

I always have dry skin problems in winter time.  I like to use Neutrogena on my hands and Lubriderm on the rest of my body.
