It's Dark Outside!
« on: November 06, 2014, 04:57:51 pm »
Now with the daylight savings time, cloudy n rainy it is dark outside looks like its 10:00 p.m. and it is barely 7:00 pm. It actually got dark since 5:30.

Do you like the fall daylight savings time?

I do not like this time of year at all. The shortened daylight hours are the worst. It is very depressing to say the least. I don't remember the actual reason why we change the clocks back. I think it had something to do with the farmers.
Is it still needed? :rose: :pumpkin: :pumpkin: :pumpkin:

Daylight savings time is over. There is less hours of daylight in the winter due to the shift of the earth on its axis, which means it gets dark earlier. Blaming the time change for all of this is rather silly.

I noticed one week before the time change that the sun was setting a bit earlier anyway.
The time change made it more drastic.
If we could just leave the clock alone and let the sun go through it's natural cycles. The moon has its cycles and so does the sun.
Petition the government to stop DST. They are the only ones interested anymore. Farmers used to benefit from it. ....not so anymore.

This is what happens during daylight savings time every year.

Even though we here in AZ don't set our clocks back, it's still dark early and no I don't particularly like it.  Makes me feel like it's time for bed when it's only 6:00P.M.!!!

I know - I sit down for dinner around 6pm and it feels like it's 8 or 9pm.  Also, no chance of doing anything outside after work these days as it's too dark out.  I feel for all my neighbors who have dogs to walk...

No, I really don't like the change this time of year.  My body is telling me that it's almost time for bed but the clock is telling me that it's almost dinner time - around 5:30 pm.

Right now it's a few minutes past 7 pm and it feels more like 10:30 pm.

I don't know anyone who likes this time of year.  It cuts my hours short at work and I am getting tired alot earlier. I just feel like I can't get as much done.

I work at night most of the time so at this time of year it's dark when I go in and dark when I leave to come home.  Takes a little while to get used to it ... throws my internal clock off in the beginning.

I don't like it getting dark early. I can't wait until the time changes again.

Since there's really no extra hour I just wish they would quit the whole thing.  Moving daylight from morning until evening and vice versa is just a big pain.

I wish it would be left alone. I don't like changing the clocks back or forward.

Where I live we get 14.5 hrs of daylight at it's peak in the summer, with 9.5 hrs of dark. In the winter, we 9.5 hrs of daylight at it's low point, and 14.5 hrs of dark. Blaming a clock adjustment for the 5 hours less daylight is just plain ignorance.
