MagicJack

Have you ever heard of the MagicJack or do you own one?

One of my Facebook friends convinced me to invest in a MagicJack.  It's hardware you can use with a high speed internet connection so you can have a land line without paying a monthly payment.

Sometimes I learn things the hard way.  I bought the hardware and chose to activate it.  Then I transferred the phone number associated with my internet connection to MagicJack so people could continue to reach me using my current phone number.

After a day or two, I was notified that everything was ready to go.  That's when I learned that my MagicJack hardware was NOT compatible with my modem.  What a mess.  I'm still trying to get it all straightened out and I gave up on MagicJack.

Message to self: Don't fix things that aren't broken.

Have you had any personal experiences with computer hardware or software that you'd be willing to warn people about?

Have a great day!
