??? Do you think the U.S.A. has control over Ebola.? Now a doctor is tested positive for the virus.

I believe there is every chance that it will become epidemic in the United States. We have open borders and only recently started limiting any flights from West Africa.  >:(

It seems that the safeguards that are in place for dealing with infected people has to be implemented absolutely perfectly for them to be useful.  :(

That being said, the world has faced epidemics and pandemics before. We should not panic but be sensible. Hopefully, we can live through this as we have other dangers. After all, it's in God's hands when all is said and done.  :angel11:

Honestly from what I have seen so far they are not doing a good job monitoring the spread of this disease. People who exhibiting symptoms need to be immediately isolated. They shouldn't even go to the hospital if they think they have it let the health care team go to their house with protective gear and care for them.

I don't think the U.S. has control over it.  We've got a President who insists on keeping the borders wide open.  We've got a President who insists on importing patients with the virus, and illegal aliens are running rampant and free.  We've got a President who refuses to stop any and all flights coming in from these countries, or going out to these countries.  We've got a President who is sending the MILITARY (really?) to help out in Ebola-stricken countries (with MINIMAL protection for these Troops).  Truthfully?  This President makes me feel more and more like he absolutely abhors this country, Americans, and our Military.  He's doing absolutely NOTHING to protect the citizens of this country, yet your tax dollars are flowing like a raging river to countries that are known terrorist and American-hating countries.  Go figure!

Blacksheep you are 100% correct!  Why don't we close the boarders?  And sending troops, NO WAY, they signed up to protect our country in war, NOT to go and help stop a disease.  I am so glad the 3 people who had it are now disease free, and the other nurse is making excellent progress.  Now is the time to get Ebola when our hospitals can deal with one, two, or three outbreaks.  Can they deal with three hundred, three thousand?  I don't think so.

We don't know how many people have been infected until they show up at the hospital.  So far its been 3 people that's been infected and we don't know how many people they infected.

I hope they will think of others too.  I would love that the guard will more control of who ever enter in the US.  It very hard for the patient and family member who with Ebola right now.  Hope that they will find a way to treat this deadly disease.

I'm not worried about Ebola.  If you want to worry about a killer, worry about cancer.

while i think that this is an issue you have to remember that it is unlikely to get as bad as it has in africa simply because we have better access to clean water food and hospitals.  not only that but you must also think about the other illness that have a greater toll then ebola such as the common flu which more people die of each year.

Right now I don't think we have a good handle on it hopefully someone will step up and make some tough decisions. The doctor who had it in New York was treating patients in Africa, I think they need to be a little smarter then moving around the nations largest city after coming back.
