Daylight savings time
« on: October 13, 2014, 07:29:18 am »
it was dark this morning at 7 AM. It will be even darker in a few weeks when we turn our clocks back one hour. Who is in charge of this issue? I don't know anyone who likes Daylight Savings Time.

I actually like DST; it is the switching back to standard time over the winter months that I dislike. I'd rather that DST was the new "standard" so that we'd get an extra hour of sun during the day in the winter. As it is, towards the winter solstice it's already getting dark by 4pm; I'd rather have the DST during the winter and have it start getting dark closer to 5pm...

I don't care for it either, but I guess we should be use to it by now.

I love Daylight Savings Time.  I enjoy sleeping for an extra hour.  I think I am much more tired when we move the clocks forward in the Spring.

I think it's strange, to be awake around 7-8 AM and not catch a glimpse of the sun!! It was like that this morning. Strange, too, is it being pitch black outside at 5 PM during the winter. This always throws me off!!! :/

We really don't need it. I don't know why we keep doing this. Some states don't bother with it.

I prefer longer daylight hours. I don't like the time change that happens in the fall.

I wish we could just pick a time and stick with it. It's annoying to have to change the clocks backwards and forward. I've never heard a particularly good reason for this.

It's another misguided happenstance that we have perpetuated.  :confused1:

I don't like it, but it's always been around. Our state would not have to participate if they wished not to. I would like it to go away.  :bad:

I don't have a problem with it. I know it is better for the kids when getting out of school or so they say. If they have to go in the dark of the morning what the heck is the difference. I guess I am lucky because I seem to have an internal clock built in. The changing of time has never bothered me.

Actually, it is the opposite and it will be lighter in the morning. Clocks are moving back, which means 7 AM now will be 6 AM in a few weeks. 7 AM will then be like it is at 8 AM now.
