Do you fly? I am terrified of flying but i would love to experience it one day. If you fly what gives you the comfort and peace to get through a flight?

I love flying, if you take your mind off the fear and focus on the adventure as well as the experience then you'll be more interested in enjoying yourself and on having good time. It helps if you have something enjoyable to eat.

I drove to Chicago from Provo Utah and from Portland to Anchorage Alaska and there is NO WAY I would chose driving over flying unless there were good reasons. The Chicago trip was to move my son and the Alaska one was to deliver a Jeep. My wife and I fly all over the country and it's great. Most of the time I just sleep or play on the computer.

Next week we are flying from Portland to Nashville to see Josh Turner in concert.

I don't have any problem flying, but I do remember the first time I did fly and I was slightly nervous.  I just looked over all the other people on the plane.  They were all calm and that helped keep me calm.

I never believed in the adage that 'Flying is the safest form of travel'. But, because of my job, I fly occasionally. I do not mind the flying, it's the preparation beforehand (i.e., checking in, physical searches, and the agonizing wait for the flight) that gets on my nerves, LOL.

The last time I was on a plane, I was three years old coming to USA. I cannot remember what it was like.

Flying is a wonderful experience!  It's like sitting in your easy chair at home and relaxing.  You don't realize you are moving not unless you hit turbulence.  There are fewer accidents in the sky than with cars on the ground.  When flying having good weather is a plus.  Try to never fly when there is inclement weather this could make your flight very uncomfortable. I love flying, it gets you where you need to be in little to no time.   :)

Nowadays flying is much quicker than driving, although sometime make my ear pressure so uncomfortable.

statistically, it's so much safer than driving...and personally, I feel so much less stressed most of the time traveling that way (except for sometimes getting to the airport, etc.)

I fly, doesn't mean I love it, but it is safer than driving and it gets you there a whole lot faster!

I get really nervous about flying. It's certainly not my preferred means of travel, but it seems unavoidable sometimes. Given my choice, I would rather drive, take a train, or even travel by ship.

I have not flown for many years.  I was nervous then, but I had colleagues that I worked with to talk to and that helped. I don't fly for work anymore, since I am retired. Now I prefer the train.

I guess it is just the logic of knowing that flying is safer than driving.  If we took all the fatal car accidents that happened every day and made a big story out of it I'm sure people would find driving a lot less safe!

Faith, knowing that I'm always protected makes it possible for me or override fear of whatever.  I never like high places but I can sit in the "window" seat on an airplane and trust that I'll arrive at my destination safely as I watch the ground below.

Have a great day!

Flying is a great experience and sometimes scary too especially when the flight is about the lift off from ground, butterflies fly in my stomach. I close my eyes and pray to be safe till its in air...lol
