Boycotting Sports

I have been a sports fan for decades including Baseball, Football, Basketball and many less popular sports, but what I see in the news about Comcast locking down ESPN broadcasts for the next 9 years so those not using their expensive service can't see them totaly burns my candle out.

I finally realized that sports is really nothing but entertainment and I am going to go somewhere that doesn't rip me off to be entertained from now on!

It makes me even more glad I cancelled my Comcast services.

I have never been a huge sports fan.  And lately not a fan of giving money to any person that makes more in one day than I make in 2 years.  No one is worth that kind of money.  I read where back when Chips was on TV the 2 stars of the show were making $25,000 per show.  That is crazy.  And that was years ago.  I heard where the ones on The Big Bang Theory were making like a million per show.  That is unreal.

That's why I got a Raspberry Pi and configured it as a media streamer - lot of free sports to watch with the apps people built - including watching live games in other countries.  Unfortunately I burned out my one memory chip, and just got the replacement, so not I have to reconfigure it... But I'm not a huge sports fan so I'm not really missing anything.  Just did the research for friends who are considering cutting the cord - so I played around to see what I could access with the apps.

If you want to make some REAL money, create a training course someone else could actually follow to duplicate what you did and I will help you market it.

I am not a sports fan, so that would never apply to me.  In todays' market, it cost too much to attend any sport.

someone pays to keep salaries and network sports contracts going up and up and most of the time the fan foots the bill.

ESPN agreed with NBA for 9-year deal to continue to cover their games. Deal had nothing to do with Comcast.

I am a big sports fan but I guess I'll have to find something else to watch on TV from now on.

I am a baseball guy and they really got me mad the other day with they way they handled it on tv.  There have been playoff games that were only shown on the MLB channel...which I don't get and a lot of people don't.  No shot am I boycotting anything, but it upsets me to say the least.

Yea, can't afford to go to games and haven't had TV or cable broadcasts for a number of years 

I watch for "free" on the internet when I can but you have to be careful because a lot of the free sites are just trying to load viruses or adware onto your computer!

I, too, have boycotted sports for the most part.  Not only because of the endless greed but also the attitudes of athletes in general.  Every time I turn around someone else is busted for drugs, driving under the influence, domestic violence and so on. 

If athletes are not guilty of any of these types of things, they sure do seem to make some pretty lame excuses for the ones who are. 

I have no need to waste my precious time patronizing criminals and those who choose to associate closely with them. 

I don't care if the game is on free cable, I would get so much more satisfaction watching my grass grow.
