Melissa Rivers suing Dr

Did you hear she is suing the doctor over her mother's death.  What are your feelings about that?

It seems like her own personal doctor neglected her in some regard. I was expecting Melissa to sue. I'm just surprised it took this long for her to file a lawsuit.

Personally I think she knew (Joan) that this was a very risky operation. Melissa has MORE money than she knows what to do with it and she wants to sue the doctor for what? Malpractice? Seems a little greedy to me! She was old, and maybe she had a few years left OR not. It was her time to go.

From what I have heard, I am glad. No doctor should be taking selfies while doing surgery. I heard there were other unappropriate things he did too. She could still be with us if he would have paid more attention to his patient. Hate to see any family go through this anguish.

She lost her mother! I would do the same thing.

I think Melissa is taking the correct action.  Joan Rivers should have been considered a high risk patient due to her age. Anything could go wrong with an elder person…. and it happened to Joan.

I think she should sue. The doctor made a serious mistake.

Seriously?  Don't people understand that people eventually die?  Her mother was 81 years old.  If my loved one died during surgery I'd be grateful that they didn't have to suffer on the way out.  People need to get real.

Have a great day!

I agree with Melissa River's decision to sue, although I had not heard that in the news. There was something terribly wrong about the fact that the place that did the surgery had no back up plan for heart events during anesthesia. The
situation is causing a lot of people to cancel colonoscopies and the like in doctor's offices and opting to go to a hospital for them so there is proper backup in the case of this type of emergency.

This doesn't surprise me at all. Apparently the doctor preformed an unscheduled biopsy. Is this also the same doctor that took a selfie while she was unconscious on the table?

I don't think I know enough about it to comment on it but it doesn't make any difference how much money Melissa Rivers has if she thinks the doctor did something wrong then she should sue so maybe he won't be able to do it again.

I don't have enough info on the issue of Rivers' death.  They said she went to the hospital to have something done, but they aren't saying what.  Could that have triggered her death or was it the fault or her Doctor or Doctors?

I think Melissa is doing the right thing.  If it can be proven the doctor did what has been reported, he should not be allowed to practice medicine.
