No matter where I am or what is happening, I do deep breathing to calm myself down.
It gets me through a lot of things.  :highfive:

1) Breathe in through your nose to a count of 4.

2) Hold that breath for a count of 7.

3) Breathe slowly out through your lips (like a backward whistle) to a count of 8.

4) Repeat until you've calmed down.

I can tell when I've done it long enough if I start yawning during the process.

Thanks for the tip linderlizzie  I have always taken deep breaths to calm down but I'll have to try linderlizzie's way to do it.  It sounds more effective.

I go into a room by myself if I can and take deep breathes.

I pray and try to watch a funny movie...if possible. I call a friend to talk and then I try to go to sleep if that don't work.

If I am where I can do so, I like to whip out the MP3 and plug it into both ears--and then take a good, brisk walk.  If not possible I stop for a moment and breathe...slowly.
