Do you still have a rodery phone?
« on: September 16, 2014, 08:48:57 am »
We are so spoiled now with our touch tone phones and I was sitting here thinking about the old
rodery phone. I no longer have one and really do not miss it.

How about you☎☎☎☎☎☎

I have never owned a rotary phone. I had a friend as a child who had one in her house

We had a rotary phone many years ago.  I even remember when, living in the country,  there were several households on a line and you could pick up the phone sometimes and someone would  be on the line.  There was no security then!!

Yeah but what did you need to be secure from way back then?  People did not even lock their doors when they left home.

I have a cordless touch tone phone. I like the new gadgets. I can walk all around the house with my phone. I am glad too because no more tangled phone cords. LOL :)

Wow, a rotary phone. I actually have not seen one of those in many years now. You do still see them in old movies. I could never live with one of those phones today. Although, back then, Bell telephone was the main company. They did not break up until later on. Now you have AT&T and Verizon.

I grew up in the country too and we also had a "party" line where all the people on the mile could pick up the phone when it rang and listen in on the conversation.

I used to have a rotary phone but haven't had one in years.  I suppose some people still have them though.

I've never owned a rotary phone, but I've used one before. Dialing numbers certainly took awhile longer. Talk about a time investment to dial a friend. Now even push button phones are passe. Most use smart phones where you don't even have to know someone's number at all to call them.

We used to have a Mickey Mouse statue rotary phone growing up.

I'm glad there are smartphones now to use.  I do miss the ring tone of a phone, the music ones are so boring.
I switch the sounds on my smartphone to a phone ringing.  Should be a default, but no, I had to search & download one & install it.

I use a typewriter sound for text messages.  :)

The very first house I lived in we had one in the hallway. It didn't work though. Last year we moved into my grandparents house and they have one in the kitchen. It used to work, I've talked on it before. I even had an old one that I used to play with.
