Bejeweled 2 Tips, Tricks and Strategies

I've recently begun playing Bejeweled 2 on a gaming site.  I understand power gems and hypercubes; however, I'd like to learn more about how to achieve high scores.  I'm sure it helps to be fast but I get the impression that it also works out well to be intelligent about being fast.

I also get the impression that it's like volleyball, in that, I can set myself up to score high if I line gems up so they become POWER gems or hypercubes.

I don't think I know any real "secrets," but I do try as much as possible to make a match of 4 or more jewels.  Once that's done, I try to match the jewels that "sparkle" because they explode everything else around them for even more points.  I also try to keep my eye on matches closer to the bottom of the game.  This keeps the new jewels coming down with the possibility of even more matches and points.  I have Bejeweled 3 on my computer and I love playing it.  There are different games that can be played on the bought version of this one.  My favorites are "Lightening," "Ice Storm" and "Poker."
