renters insurance

I just got some from Geico and am very pleased. It is quite affordable $143 a year. $5,000 coverage for my personal possessions. They have a number of insurance companies working with them.

I've thought about renter's insurance, but I ultimately decided not to go for it since I can't afford the extra cost.

Can you replace all your belongings for $5000?

I have a policy thru Geicho. Its Assurrant.Ive had it for a few years.I pay about a $240 premium for the year but it covers lots.Cant give u $$$$ but i know its quite a bit.A lot more than what i see here but then again i am paying more.

It even covers if my dog bit someone or they get hurt in my apt.

If jewelery is stolen or cash too.....its covered.

Every one should have renters insurance. Thank heavens I had it in 1979  back then it was a lot cheaper then now and it was for $10,000.00 and even then it did not pay for all that was stolen. considering  my sons antique guns were stolen and all of our household and clothes. They wiped me out . I had always carried it. from the time I was single and own my own.  Yes it is another expense, but when you get to looking and adding it is worth it. The replacement is so high.

yes, that's a great rate. I got mine thru a different company and it was just as inexpensive.

My daughter had renter's insurance with Nationwide and was very pleased with them.  She paid by the month, not sure how much, but she did have to make a claim because someone broke into her apartment and stole some things from her.

It's like a lot of things in that most people don't feel like they need it...until they need it.  It's always a good idea though.
