There is no point unless the person feels he's being framed (if they have that in there mind they might not trust cops at all and just run) . If there trying to get rid of something while running to not get caught with it would be another reason. (The more illegal stuff they have on them when caught just ads to there heartaches).

They probably haven't had time to run your plate yet unless they've been following you for a while.  I agree that it is stupid.  Nobody ever gets away - except for in the movies!

Many are wanted for serious crimes and see running as their only option to jail time. Some are simply high and panic. Some of course, just aint that bright. Also a persons prior experience with police weighs in. All of my experiences have been pretty benign but that isn't true for everyone.

My point of view is that law abiding citizens will yield to authority.

Selfish, childish people will fear what they do not understand and run. :binkybaby:

I agrse someone who already has a warrant out for their arrest probably won't care. They would be most likely to try to run because they have already been on the run and are trying to avoid serious jail time. I have seen a lot of people who have stolen vehicles try n flee the cops as well.

What is the point of running away from the cops when they either pull you over or flash their lights at you to get you to pull over...

1..They already ran your plates so even if you are fast and get away.. They will find you..
2.. When you run that is resisting arrest added on to your jailtime..
3..Your libel to hurt yourself or someone else for your stupidity
                    and last but not least
Why run in the first place? You make yourself look guilty by running, and you probably made matters worse and will be charged more than what you were actually pulled over for...

Exactly! They already have your information so there's no point in running!
Opinion: 1) a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter 2) belief stronger than impression and less strong than positive knowledge

What's the natural thing to do when you're being chased? It's to flee ie run.

However, for most people though, common sense kicks in and you naturally pull over when you see the flashing lights behind you. The problem is that most criminals lack common sense which is why they're criminals.  ::)

you were watching cops again weren't you? The human mind unless control is gained early, or train to respond a certain way, fear will cause it to go into preservation mode and be more instinctive than rational.

You look more guilty if you run even if you did something wrong or not. So dont run.
Although i do have to agree (CUZ IT's TRUE) with countrygirl12: The police are for the most part a bunch of scared wusses and too power hungry...For the most part our law enforcement is very corrupt.
