How is having uniforms cheaper? All the kids that I knew that had to wear uniform ending up having to still purchase regular clothes for after school, weekends, breaks, social activities, etc.

That's having two wardrobes instead just being able to wear your regular clothes to school.

I think it should be a families choice what they want their child to wear....I can find regular clothes cheaper than uniforms, if we have to dress our children a certain way that will only drive up the cost.....

I don't care for school uniforms. You have 3 types of clothing school and play and church and its always the same thing day by day; gets old.

I think that school uniforms are an excellent idea. My son is not allowed to wear anything but collared shirts and khaki material shorts/slacks.  And the shorts cannot be cargo shorts. He does not need to spend time thinking too much about what to wear in the morning.  There is no competition at school from a fashion war. There appears to be a much more respectful crowd of kids, less fights, more confidence, a higher percentage of college admission, more school spirit, and a larger population of kids involved with sports. I am all for uniforms in school. My daughter is in a non-uniformed school and all of the previously mentioned themes are in less abundance.

school uniforms are a good idea. some kids and their families can not afford the clothing others
might have. this keeps kids on a level playing field. this may also stop some of the teenage
outlandish fads that can sometimes disrupt class
