:binkybaby:Just plain dumb. But kids these days are raised to believe that mommy and daddy will pay for everything.

Things happen these days that didnt back when our parents and granparents were young....it is stupid for teenagers to have sex....especially unprotected....its not right for a teenagerto get pregnant, however...the child should in no way shape or form be treated differently because his mother or parents are teens. For some teens however, it does make them grow up and accept responsibility, it did for a cousin of mine who had one at 15.

I had my first child at 16 without the help of Mommy and Daddy.  I am very happy and have 6 wonderful children now.  I wish I would have waited, but would not change anything...I love my kids and my life.  I do think that a lot of parents do WAY TOO much for their teen Moms, and this is why they continue to have more.  They should be help responsible for their actions!!

i wish my daughter would have waited, college , cheerleeding, proms and such, but she didn't and I have a wonderful 4 year old grandson.  she's older now and she does alright but I think her life wouldn't be the same without him.

Once a person is pregnant, there is no more choice. you are bringing a life into the world. My mom had me when she was 16. I am not condoning it, but everything worked out okay, after the trials and hardships,

God has a plan no matter the way we look at it. lets just pray we are responsible if we decied that we are going to be having babies at 16, because this ecomony, and a baby is expensive, you most likely need 2 parents, is the man going to stand up to the plate, at this age, most are partying, having fun, not ready to settle down, and if you got one to settle down, it will last long enough, for him to realize he isn't happy, then move on, leave you and the baby in the dust, really think this through. It is an early age. You have to plan your entire life around this. :female: :male:

I don't think a 16 yr old has any business of having a baby, but it does happen...it happens a lot. It happens a lot in my family actually...LOL!! Luckily in my family, everything has worked out fine, but it's not always a happy ending. As long as the child is being taken care of, it's all that really matters.

I don't necessarily think her life is going to be ruined by having a child, but being a teen mother isn't an easy road.  It's a huge responsibility, and it means that she's going to have to sacrifice a lot of things--late nights out with friends, possibly her high school diploma--to ensure that her baby's properly cared for.  And some teens handle the situation better than others.  I knew of a couple of girls in high school who did extremely well despite becoming mothers.  I met a few after I graduated who couldn't handle the lifestyle change and still went running around with boys like idiots.

Honestly, it all depends on the teen mother.  If she's willing to accept the new responsibility, and the way it changes her life, then she'll do just fine.

I had my son at 16 and I'm now 21 and married and I own my house and vehicle. My life is better than most who get pregnant at that age but it is not something I would want for my kids. I would wait at least until I finished school if I could do it all over again.

It's so common these days that I don't think most people think much about it.  It's a tough road though, I'm sure but many many people have obstacles in life and overcome them.  My fourth and last child was born when my daughter (now in her 20s) was 16 - her and her friends used to borrow him and walk around the mall with him in the stroller. People thought he was her son.  She did get a few nasty remarks mostly from older people.  Kinda surprised me.

There are plenty of teen mothers that do a better job than their older counterparts. I really don't think age has all that much to do with it. My mom had 3 by the time she was 21.

For some it could work, but I prefer to use protection so I don't have kids at 18, I want to wait until mid twentys.  :dontknow:

Hey Everyone,

I had a friend Amber and she had a baby when she was 12. It was the saddest thing that I have ever heard of. There are a lot of people who are right because they say that these kids are having kids because they know their parents will help them and pay for what ever they need. If not they know that they can apply for financial aid and recieve it. Either way they know that someone will help them and it is obviously not a big deal. Amber's parents began to raise her baby girl and pay for everything the baby needed. The sad thing was that they baby was about 6 when we graduated and was raised thinking that Amber was her sister and her grandparents were mommy and daddy. How wrong do you guys think that is?

Her life is not ruined.  There are ways she can finish school and continue on to a great career as many others have before her.
