has anyone set up a blog site that has sponsors that pay you for clicking links for the blog? I'm interested in trying my hand at this but don't know where to start....looking for some insights for this.

Google has a free blog service called Blogspot (or Blogger). It doesn't take much time to figure out, but there is a limit to what you can do. Another free blog service is Wordpress, which has two options. The first is their free service hosted by them but they do not allow referral links. The second would be to download their script for your own website (and have full control).

For the ads to earn commissions from when clicked, Google has one called Adsense. There are others as well like Adbrite, but this is a difficult way to make money. Commissions are low, so you would have to receive a large amount of traffic.

To monetize a blog, you need to show sponsors you are getting a lot of search engine traffic.  Competition is fierce. You need to become an expert in some category to make it work.  Good Luck.

I have a blog (not related to money making) and I finally made enough off ad clicks to cash out $100 after 5 years... I have heard of people that have enough traffic that they can earn a real income at doing it though. I don't put a ton of time or work into mine though.

NO i have always been interested in blogs but i don't know enough about them to get involved and i certianlty don't have the time to spend on it now, guess it will just have to wait. Good luck with your adventure.
