I've used paper towels and Windex (or Windex equivalent) - never had an issue with streaks.  Could be my technique that works.

Try paper towels, coffee filters, or newspaper.  Also vodka can be used to clean windows... and to drink after you've successfully cleaned those windows.

I use windex and crumpled up newspapers, makes your hands dirty with the ink, but it washes off

Also wipe crossways on the inside, and longways on the outside  that way if you see streaks you can just wipe the window down on the side that needs wiped

If you want a buyable product, Walmart sells a really good product called Sprayway which is superb at cleaning and not leaving streaks. I do believe you can mix vinegar (or lemon juice) with water and it leaves a similar result. Instead of using old wash cloths or rags, newspaper is excellent at removing water streaks before they show.

Paper towels can do well, depending. Some work better than others. Plain water usually works fine and just wipe the surface with the paper towels, newspaper, or microfiber cloth. Microfiber cloth usually works well after the surface is cleaned & dry to remove any lent left behind and usually takes care of any streaks left behind.

I have always heard that white vinegar and water is the best thing to clean windows with.  Also, instead of paper towels, use balled up newspaper.

My family use clean alcohol and wipe the window with a news paper.
