James Garner passes on at 86

I just heard the news that legendary actor James Garner of The Rockford Files fame,has passed on at the age of 86 today.

I liked him too, but it seems mid eighties is a popular age to make the jump. That gives me about 9 more years, so I hope to use them wisely.

I did just hear this on the news today. He was such a great actor. (My favorite movie was when he starred with Doris Day in The Thrill of it All). What I find most impressive about him was the fact that he stayed married to the same lady for 60 years. How difficult is that? It's hard enough in the real world making a marriage work but as a celebrity? I raise my glass to his successful career and his successful home life.

I remember James Garner with great fondness.  He was indeed one of the best - in his career and his home life.

I hadn't heard that he had died.  I'm sorry to hear it and I also didn't know he was married to the same woman for 60 years.  That was truly fantastic.  He was always one of my favorites no matter whether it was movies or TV.

I remember first seeing him in those Doris Day films as a kid,but I'll always remember him as Bret Maverick.It was pretty cool to see him reprise the role in the Mel Gibson film years later.

Loved this guy,,,   he was such a good actor in any role he played.  Thee seems to be so many of the great actors passing on these days.   its a sad loss.

Yep..that was sad, I remember him from the Rockford Files and recently he played the very sweet husband Noah..in The Notebook.

That was such an awesome movie still haven't read the book yet.
