World Cup (WC) and soccer in general
« on: July 10, 2014, 10:32:18 am »
As much as I'm disappointed that the USA isn't in the finals (then again, who expected them to make it as far as they did), I'm looking forward to a good game in Germany vs Argentina, though I expect Germany to win it all (and to think....USA was in their pool, played them 1-0, and Ghana tied them), especially after they beat Brazil 7-1 the other day.  One thing that I have never quite figured out (and not a huge fan of) in soccer is why they don't got to standard time keeping...the whole extra time idea never seems to work out, I feel like they never add enough time...and I'm not a huge fan of PKs...yes, I understand the ET and that people are tired after 120 minutes, but it doesn't really demonstrate too much teamwork/skill in my opinion.  I must say, though there have been some fantastic saves by some goalies...oh, and I had a couple friends travel to Brazil and they told me about their experiences...pretty exciting to hear the least, Brazil is such a neat and huge country!

Anyway, thoughts welcome about anything related to Soccer and the WC!

The Netherlands/Argentina game was pretty exciting. It would be pretty neat if they kept playing until someone scored instead of having penalty kicks, maybe they would play more aggressive.
