I think, in truth, people can be quite mean during any day of the week. But perhaps it's a guilty conscious or a self-righteous attitude contributing to the behavior on Sundays. People should always be mindful of their behavior, but people aren't perfect either. Try to forgive them.

Well I have never met any one on a Sunday that was mean or nasty to me. In fact it is one of the most pleasant days of the week. Yes I do go to church and I try to practice what the Good Lord wishes. I don't know where you live but here it is a very nice day. And on the other days of the week I meet up with those from church they always treat me great. Maybe it is your attitude that needs work, like go to church and get to know the Lord.

Did you not read the other replies?  It is not just me.  I am also guessing you do not have a job where you work with the public.

I would also suggest you take the advice of another poster.  You need to look at your own life and quit trying to tell me how to live mine.  FYI I am a Christian.  Maybe since you are so judgmental and think you know my life you are the one who needs to get to know the Lord!

What I say is the truth.  I am guessing you are one of the hateful people others are over joyed when you leave the establishment on Sunday.  You go to church Sunday morning and then go out and eat and judge the people in the restaurant because they are not in church on Sunday.

I swear it seems that people are more hateful and mean on Sunday than any other day of the week.  We absolutely dread the church crowd on Sunday afternoon's.  They are the most mean evil vindictive people that come into our store.  I just don't get it.  I am not knocking Christians as a whole.  I am guessing the ones who act like this are just Sunday Christians as the saying goes.  Idk.  But it has been like that every where I have ever worked.

I remember years ago I had a man come in on Sunday to eat where I worked and he actually berated me for being at work and not at church on Sundays.  I am like "excuse me sir!  If YOU were not in here stuffing your face as soon as church gets out I could be off and go to church but since you and everyone else has to eat out on Sunday somebody has to be here to fix the food".  His reply "I need to see your manager".  Not a problem.  The manager agreed with me and he just stood there with egg on his face! lol

LOL  I don't think I would have had the courage to tell that guy off, but I sure would have wanted to.  So glad your manager stood up for you.  ;)

I like what Ghandi said.  He was right.  It doesn't matter if one belongs to a church.  What really matters is how you live your life, how you treat people.  Christ said "Whatsoever ye do to the least of your brothers so ye do unto me."  Would those people treat Christ like they treated you?

The funny thing is that guy is turning people off from church and his beliefs by modeling bad behavior.  No one wants to be around people that behave like that, even one day a week.  He needs to lighten up.  Another thing Matthew wrote was  "Before you go to get the splinter out of your neighbor's eye get the plank out of your own".  I guess your customer didn't read that part.  ::)

 :peace:  :angel11: :rainbow:

That's the thing.  I know a lot of people who do not go to church on Sunday but are going to be in Heaven.  Going to church does not mean you are saved or going to go to Heaven.  At the same time I know people who are in church every Sunday and clearly are not Christians.  The Bible says "ye will know them by their fruits".  By their actions and what they do.

For a long time I worked a job where I was off on Sunday and recently I started a new job, thru no choice of my own, where I work every Sunday.  And around 1:00 you start getting some of the hatefullest people in the world.  People dressed to the nine and clearly just left church.  I remember a few weeks ago a holier than thou bitty who tried to tell me off because at 7pm the specialist had already left for the day.  I walked away from her.

I think people are basic idiots all week long. Maybe you just notice it on Sundays because you have off work or something. ??? ??? ??? ???

Did you not read what I said???  No, I am not off on Sunday.  I notice it because on Sunday people are more mean spirited and more hateful.  Maybe it is because the people who go to church on Sunday also go out and eat and shop on Sunday and are not out and about the rest of the week. lol

Really?  So those of us who work on Sunday (to keep from losing our homes) deserve to be treated nasty and hateful?  If a person cannot be nice because they dread going to work on Monday then they need to stay on home on Sunday.

I take my kids to church with me on Sunday mornings and my fiancee has picked up on my bad attitude when I walk in the door.  I never thought I was being shrewd or difficult because I really enjoy my time of worship and walk away feeling closer to God.  I know I leave with a ton on my mind.  All the sinning I keep doing and that must interrupt my happy go lucky behavior so much he picks up on it.

I do not have anything to forgive them for.  I try hard not to let an idiot ruin my day.  Usually forget them after they leave.  But I can say as a whole my co-workers and I dread when church gets out.  As a whole the people who come in on Sunday afternoon are more hateful than any other day of the week.  And like I said earlier, I have been verbally attacked by people who did go to church that morning for not being in church myself.  And I tend to tell those people who I think.  Like I did that preacher.  lol.   I guess I was lucky in that most managers will not back up the employee.  Most managers are going to side with the customer.  But I will not stand there and be berated by someone for working on Sunday.  Yes, I would prefer to be off the weekends but the only job I could find right now I work every weekend.  And that includes Sunday.  I would also be willing to bet I read my Bible more than the Sunday Christian does.  And if you want to get technical about it  -  The Bible says "remember the Sabbath and keep it Holy"  and the  true Sabbath was Saturday.  Not Sunday. lol

Oh well.  Was not trying to start a war and I appreciate the comments.  I just wondered what others thought or if any one else worked on Sunday and had the same experiences.   I try not to eat out but I know Sunday is a busy day for restaurants and I guess employees can be rude too.

I honestly try not to shop anywhere on Sunday.  If I am shopping I am part of the reason that THAT person waiting on me is having to work.  If no one would shop on Sunday then businesses would close.  I remember when we had Blue Laws and nothing was even open on Sunday other than maybe a small convenience store.

You leave church with a ton on your mind?  I understand that most people have a lot on their mind.  We are living in difficult times.  But we can swim together or we can sink together.  And sadly as a country and as a whole I think we will sink together.

My daughter worked at a convenience store in our hometown.  One day a man came in the store to buy something and asked her why she was not attending church.  She wanted to say because I have to work to wait on people like you, but she didn't say anything.

ok heres my own opinion
1. some people are $%&@# jerks ex-specially those that are ignorant %$#@& that think on whats right and whats worng.
2. no one has to go to church at all because its only a place & god is everywhere not just in church so you can worship god anywhere on any day & at anytime.
(btw im southern baptist)

Freebase...are you familiar with what Jesus did regarding his fathers place of worship when many turned it into a flea market?

Are you also familiar with what Jesus called the Pharisees regarding TRUE worship?

Are you familiar also that Jesus said,"I have made your name known. The only TRUE God and the one you sent forth Jesus Christ"

So now what do we learn by that?

Obviously Jesus father temple was sacred.

The Pharisees taught mens or satanic doctrines.

And God has a personal name...just like we do.

Psalms 83:18 if you need to see it KJV

I agree that it's the difference between RELIGIOUS people and those who are truly spiritual.  Religious people go to  church so they are now in a position to judge and condemn others.

A person who is truly spiritual would spread the energy of love and light wherever they go because they recognize that we are all one with each other within the universe and it's important to be kind.
