No emotion
« on: July 05, 2014, 10:19:38 am »
Have you ever had a point or time in your life where you didn't have an emotion or a thought ..Is it normal to not have any emotions or thoughts? I always thought your brain is constantly thinking...Maybe it could just be a feeling and there are emotions and thoughts there.. Would then the emotion be blank and thoughtless? But how is that possible? What do you think?

When people meditate, they have no thoughts or emotion, that's what's meditation is all about.

I wish!!...I can't seem to shut my brain off. I tried meditating to see if that'll work...Nope, instead of relaxing I got agitated, lol...

I don't think I've ever not had an emotion but I've gotten to the point in certain situations where I just didn't care anymore. I can feel myself thinking in my sleep; I even wake up with ideas or making adjustments to my to do list sometimes.

I've been interested in meditating for the last year or so. I hope to become a master at it soon because I definitely need an outlet for my over worked mind sometimes.

Sure wish I could find a way to turn my brain off when I go to bed.  Most nights its 30 minutes or more before I can shut it down and some nights its 2 o'clock before I finally go to sleep.  I periodically go thru stages where I actually sleep good though.

I would think sometimes there could be contributing factors.Maybe our diet....maybe we need a certain medication...maybe we arent sleeping well...etc....

Here is definitely some good advice from the good book....

Dont let the sun set on you in a provoked state of mind.

Try Melatonin, it will put you to sleep naturally really quick.    I got some strips from the Dollar Tree & only have to take a third of one strip for it to work.     Great stuff.     Some nights I just want to go to sleep real fast  :)

I think it depends on the event or what is happening during the time this is going on.  Sometimes when someone dies some people don't show emotion at first and it might be months before they do when it finally registers in the brain and then they may just break down.  Some people just get angry there are many reasons that people may not show emotions.

Yes, I think everyone goes through that.  It is a form of depression.
Have a wonderful day!

I think everyone goes through that period in their life.   I think my emotions are drained sometimes.  I have been through alot, lost alot and I guess you just turn them off because you need to survive.

This post made me go back to when I was 18 and my stepfather died of cirrhosis of the liver.  I was not fond of him to begin with, and I was very unemotional at his funeral.  In retrospect, it was because he would pick at me when he was drunk and I felt in my heart of hearts that my mother could have done better than choosing him.  My youngest sister (his daughter) was only 5 when he died and my brother was 9.  She was unemotional as well. ??? ??? ??? :rainbow: :rose:
