Have you ever lied?

I'm laughing at the few that are actually trying to claim that they have never lied.

My Personal opinion is that everyone lies, it may be for different reasons but we are all imperfect and anyone that says they never lie is not telling the truth.  Any kind of deception weather you actually say something or not is a lie.  For example My natural birth father is helping me pay for gas to help with my teeth (which they are all out now but I still waiting for them to heal to get dentures)so he will be sending me money for gas again starting in August, but my birth mother and step dad don't know that because they get very jealous and it hurts my mom when I converse with my birth father.  I always let everyone know that he is just my birth father that my dad is my step father because he deserves that he help raise me and my siblings and my birth father didn't even pay child support until a year before I turned 18 actually it was just a few months.  So I feel if he is willing to help why not but I am not telling my mom where the gas money is coming from but if she asks I will lie so as not to hurt her feelings.  She isn't in the position to help me and he is so I take it, so am I wrong for taking his money and not teling my mom maybe but her health is bad so why get her upset about it.  So yes I lie!

Most of the time when people lie it's either to spare someone's feelings (which is ironically a considerate action in my opinion) or to get/stay out of trouble.

No you are not wrong.  And I do not see it as a bad thing to not say something or not tell somebody something that will just upset them.

Yeah everyone lies and even if they try not to or if they don't tell the whole truth you can decisive someone its the same thing.

Yes I have lied.  I am 60 years old and I can say that I have in fact told more lies than I wish I had - however we all do something wrong and I can't imagine someone being able to honestly say that have never told even one lie.

I think anyone that says they have never lied is probably telling a lie!

I'm pretty sure everyone has told a lie at some point in their lives regardless of the degree of the lie. But I don't think someone who very rarely fibs and generally only tells little ones is considered a liar. Frequent lies and bigger lies are more the tune of a liar than someone whose extent of lying is just saying they're tired when they're actually sad because they don't want to tell people that they're sad.
