I usually look for deals offering SquareTrade warranty, or I'd visit the SquareTrade website to see who offers the best deals.

Actually we never buy warranties on anything. Touch wood I have never had anything busted on me straight out of the box nor anytime soon after, and if I did, I would make myself heard with the manufacturer. I usually buy electronics and all big appliances on credit card for the extra back-up and joint liability you get with the card issuer. This is what credit cards are best at! For the record, my husband once propped a plasma tv up in the back of his truck on the way back from Best Buy and it toppled over about 50 yards from our home. Needless to say, it was well packed and no damage was done.

If its not to terribly expensive i always try to get warranties on cameras and big ticket items that are at high risk of being damaged, it just seems logical although i have never had to use any of them.

I usually don't unless the purchase is over $500 which doesn't happen very often :)

It does not matter how much you "make yourself heard".  If it is past the warranty then it is past it.  Appliances usually come with 1 year and then you can buy a 3 year or 5 year extra warranty.  If it has been 13 months and it breaks then it's just too bad.  It is good if you have it and you need it.  But if you buy it and do not need it then you feel you wasted your money.  But it is no different than car insurance.  If you never file a claim that is a waste also.

On some electronics I do because you never know if it works properly. On some it is sometimes takes to much time to fill out a form for it. But I now know that I should because nothing lasts a year with these boys at home. They can't treat something so it will last throughout a lifetime. LOL.

I generally do not for most electronics because I have really not had much issues with most of my electronics and I end up in the past never using the warranties. I do always get them on my computers and phones though for peace of mind, especially the phones!

If it is an expensive electronic I get the warranty but if it's not very expensive I usually don't.  I don't know if that's the right thing to do or not.

I always get a warranties on pretty much all electronics because lets face it all the nice fancy stuff is nice and all but its not built as good as stuff in the past so the warranties are like a godsend\ bail out when the cheap made crap pretty much fails todo what it's supposed todo

It depends on the product. Some I get because I know I will use but others are just garbage.
