I try to do a few a year - it is a way to recycle items you don't want anymore but are too good to throw out.

I've been to quite a few but have only had maybe one or two yard/rummage sales.

I am glad that your sale went well. Sales are a lot of hard work but it is nice to clear out some space in the house and make some extra money too. Also it is great to see other people getting a good bargain on something that they need or want.

My sister and her neighbor had a huge 3-day rummage sale over the week-end and my mother and I were part of this big event. It was a little cold the first couple days, but we were fortunate enough not to get rained out, even though rain was in the forecast for our area. It was exhausting for us all, needless to say; and I'm sure for anyone who has held a rummage sale, they sure do know the feeling. We got rid of A LOT of stuff and made quite a bit of money so I do consider our week-end endeavor quite a success!  :) :) :)
I like rummage sales too. You can find some good deals. Mainly though you can get stuff cheap. With the way prices keep going up, we should proably have food sales. But that would be against the law because of the food dating. Too bad there are not more coops to buy from and cut out the packaging.

I like going to yard sells but seldom do. My uncle gets good stuff there and I mean to go, but I forget or just don't have the money to go. "It is what it is".

Congratulations on your successful rummage sale! I have entertained the thought, but other than a lot of clothes and toys, I don't have enough stuff. I just call a charity truck when I'm ready to get rid of extra stuff.

I like going to yard sales, but my husband does not like it, because he does not want more stuff in the house, so I have stopped for a while.

I love rummage sale and I'm sure with the nice weather it was very profitable. When more than one household has a rummage sale it's so much better because it's draws more customers because there's so much stuff.

i have never had much success with having these. I think it is partly location and partly that i dont pay for an ad in the paper. i like the idea though and wish i could sell some things!

I always liked that idea but I'm too much of a packrat to do that.  Honestly, it's horrible how many things I've collected over the years that I honestly don't need any more.  At some point I hope to consolidate my life, but that hasn't happened so far.

That sounds like a good idea for me to try one day!

We have  a city-wide rummage sale every year and I participate every so often. Its a lot a work and my main goal is not the money, but to rid myself of unneeded stuff.  I've been known to give things away during the final hour of a rummage sale, just so I don't have to haul it back downstairs.

I don't go to rummage sales.  Not interested in buying some else's junk.
