There are other ways you can get wifi without getting someone elses password & buying a subscription but it depends on how many places are close by & how strong the signal is (also you can enhance your own wifi signal by a cantenna or tin foil youtube has alot of vids to look into). All you need to do is scan for the wifi (depends on what device your using & im using a PS3 to take from a hunt club & theres alot of other places i can take from as well). O also a cantenna can scan about 4 miles away but its got to be put up in a high place. The down side its all flakey because of weather and radios (i know because my sister turned on her radio and both messed up & one time cops was over next door and it messed up as well) :cat:

When we first moved to this apartment we pulled off our neighbors wifi... however we also paid 1/2 the bill.  When there two teen boys visited the connection spliced so much we couldn't get a thing done in a reasonable amount of time.  About a year later frontier installed cables and DSL was offered.  We went ahead and had our own service installed.  Our local library allows free unlimited use of there internet if you bring your own laptop.  Otherwise if you use there computers they have a 2 hour limit.  Fast food restaurants offer free wifi too if you are a patron... although I'm not sure how strong the service is.

yes the bandwidth is another problem when it comes to using others wifi (bandwidth shortens when two or more devices are using the same wifi signal) normally 2 - 3 devices are ok depending on the routers bandwidth but when over that it'll lag down. :cat:

We have CenturyLink. It's just me and my mom using the wifi, since it's password protected, so we get great service. The modem is real easy to install as well.

Well I have no cable tv because I can't afford it but I do get wifi internet from the local cable company.  Otherwise almost all the grocery stores, McDonalds etc offer wifi if you don't mind going out for it.  If your neighbor was letting you in on hers maybe check with her and see if you guys could split her costs which might entice her to let you in on hers again.

Hmmm. Well I have internet from my cable provider. I'm not sure how you can obtain internet now, but when you do, please make sure to password protect your router. I had a terrible incident in which I did not have my router secured, and apparently somebody tapped into it and used my internet connection to illegally download a movie. Well, I wound up getting a letter from Paramount Studios basically threatening to sue me because of it! I had to contact them and convince them it wasn't me and they eventually let it go, but it scared me enough to make sure I put a password on my router after that! Good luck to you!

My husband and I use *bleep*, though I'm considering switching as the price has gone up.
We use a wireless router, so we have WiFi.
The internet is fast enough, but I'm not fond of the price anymore.

I was going to say AT&T because they have a deal out now for 14.95 a month for a whole year. I have the uverse internet service and it has wifi connection thru the modem. My laptop, my son 3ds and his kurio along with our desk top is connected and although we do not use all at once there is not change is how each performs. Good luck.

I use my phone company too.  They didn't give me enough instructions.  A friend told me to not only customize my password and lock the access, but to also rename my network.  Some phone companies have a low income discount, but mine is only good for new customers so ask about that before you sign up, if you could qualify.

My best advice would be that you change your television service.

I got Time Warner Cable. My package includes extended cable, land line and internet.

Wow, you were getting free internet from your neighbor.

Another advice would be to ask your neighbor if you could use their wifi and be willing to pay them a monthly fee.
