I had wi-fi, but the belkin router I had died on me.  I had to run my plug between the computer and the modem to have access to the Internet.  I have HughesNet, but I need to get a new router.   :rainbow: :rose:

You just need to get internet access either via a cable company or DSL through the phone company (or if those don't work because of where you live, a satellite provider like HughesNet although that is usually slower than the other options). Once you have established internet access via one of these forms, then you'd connect your modem to a router with WiFi access; often the ISP provider can provide you with that router (or sometimes they have a modem with WiFi capabilities too) if you tell them that you're wanting this for WiFi. Also some cellular carriers offer a WiFi hub that uses a cellular connection for internet service; however if you are wanting WiFi for your mobile devices (and not for a laptop/desktop computer) then it's just a waste since you can still get internet access on those mobile devices off of the cellular network without requiring a special hub.

EDIT: I also thought of another way... If you and your neighbor are relatively close and you don't mind revealing that you were stealing some of their bandwidth in the past, you might just try talking with them about providing access as well. You may offer to pay for half of their ISP bill each month in return for this access; it'd be cheaper for you rather than getting your own connection and paying the full bill, and it'd be cheaper for them as well and only one extra person shouldn't deteriorate their speed much either.

AT&T, Time Warner/Comcast offer Wifi routers when you get their internet.  That is going to be your best option, just getting your own internet and Wifi router.

If your neighbor didn't realize in the past that you were using her bandwidth for your internet connection, I can tell you that's why she changed her password.  Or was her internet connection protected by a password at all?  If she did know you were using it, why not ask her for the new password?  Only other way you'll have a connection is via DSL or Cable.  Maybe you can call your local cable or DSL company and find out what a package (TV/internet) would cost you.

That's why it's important to put password on routers, to make sure no one else freeloads of the services you pay for...

Back to your problem, if I were you I would find out your area's internet provider... Usually the area has one provider that provides internet service throughout the district  so all you have to do is find it... Ask your neighbor what ISP (Internet service provider) they have and look them up online or call them... Since your Tv provider is direct tv, they should theoretically have a internet plan you can buy.... If direct tv doesn't provide internet in your area, I suggest dropping them (watch out for cancellation fees, etc) and have the tv/internet combo from the provider in your area

I don't even have a wireless router, because my data is limited, and I certainly wouldn't want anyone else stealing any of it, if they were able to figure out my password. We live in the country, but sometimes my computer tries to pick up wifi that must be from the neighbors, so it must reach pretty far.

You can always go to the library where there is free wifi and also other places. If that don't work you might have to ask for the new password if they knew you was using it

Be aware you are running a risk with Fusioncash unless you have your own IP address and it's secured so no one else can use the same IP address to establish an account here.

No a days you can get internet just about everywhere, Your phone company, TV provider, Vontage which is a phone company. I would look online to see what there is in your area and start calling.
