Thoughts on the lifetime ban and $2.5 million fine?

The fine was just but a banning for life was not its out of line by the league to try that on any owner. That's almost like telling an owner of a business because they messed up they have to give up there business. Seriously i know what he did was wrong but everyone deserves a chance to redeem themself. No ones perfect not coaches, players or owners

I think it is stupid to punish this idiot. He has every right to be a neanderthal A-Hole and say anything he wants. This should be lift up to the fans and players to deal with. Fans should refuse to go to the local games, and the players can make all manner of impact on the situation.

I do find it very strange that EVERYONE in the NBA and the sports media has known all about this man and his beliefs and attitudes for decades. This seems to be nothing more than PC hype and hypocrisy. If you want a real story check out the head of the local NAACP out there that just resigned... there is a real low life that is ducking out of the spotlight to avoid public scrutiny.

Most of us will agree that Sterling was a little out of line with his comments but I think that a large percentage of people have over reacted to this...especially the National Basketball Association. They jumped into a decision without really researching it. First of all the NBA is painting itself as being borderline communistic in telling an entity what it can do with it's assets. Second of all: the team's ownership goes into a trust if Sterling gets a divorce from his wife. His wife supports him in this (her paycheck decreases if he losses the team). Sterling has proven a past record of loving litigation and can tie this up in court for an estimated ten years at which point, if he is still alive, he can get the divorce and the team ownership will go into a trust that can't be touched. NBA loses.

I think its appropriate.  Money probably isn't that big of a deal to this man...but lifetime ban from the sport he loves is a proper punishment.  Hope everyone enjoys the playoffs.

 I'm don't mean to be mean but honestly, the guys is very old and I heard he has cancer so I don't even think a life time would even be a 10 year+ punishment.

The lifetime ban is good, but the fine is pocket change for a guy who's a billionaire.  Plus he'll make millions more when he is force to sell the team.

Being an owner of a team is like being a franchise owner. There are rules and conduct you have to adhere to - even if it is your own business (technically it kinda isn't because it's franchise-like).

So, this guy has whatever he has coming to him. I'm there are a lot of people in his life, including his wife, that enabled this type of behavior.

Clearly his wife is on for the long-haul for his money as is the many mistresses he's had over the years. Money makes some people turn the other cheek when it comes to bad behavior and this is no exception.

It depends how you look at it.  I do think it is absolutely ridiculous, but at the same time I understand how the NBA can't just sit by with all of this negative publicity even if the negative publicity is absurd.

Eh,I don't suppose I follow the NBA enough to warrant an informed opinion,but it seems excessive to me. I think a fine seemed appropriate enough.
