I have never used a migraine pain reliever for the simple reason that, if I try to swallow something when I have a migraine, I think I will vomit! I usually do anyway but sometimes even the thought of taking a pill, brings it all up. However, I have seen commercials on television for migralieve (I don't know if I've spelt that right or even if I've remembered the name right) however my sister swears by it and says if you take the pill early enough, you can either prevent the migraine or at least lessen the pain of it.

Over the counter meds never worked for me either with my migrains but I do take Ibuprofin 800 to help with some of the pain. Usually works if I am giving the chance to have some peace and quiet and of course total darkness. Best of luck.

well heres one way that i get rid of a migraine.
take 2 aspirins (any type that you don't get sick from) then take a bath or shower then after i use a towel to dry off i use the same towel and wrap it around my head (it acts just like a wet compress) & if light starts to bother me i use part of the towel to cover my eyes preventing light to enter my eyes. :cat:

Go to Dr. Oz.com. Enter "Migraine headaches". He has some remedies for you. Do not forget to drink plenty of water.

My doctor said they treat migraines with caffeine.  But I get them often and I drink Pepsi and Coke often, so that doesn't help me that much.  The only thing I have find that helps is taking four of the over the counter ibprophen (800mg).
Take them all at one time and with a nap if possible. That and time.  They last days for me sometime.

I use to use Excedrin Migraine, it worked for me.  Give it a try, I hope it works for you too, migraines are horrible :(

I get all kinds of headaches; from migraines, to cluster, to tension and any other kind there may be.  I have dealt with headaches most of my life.  I take a pill every night that kinda keeps the migraines at bay and ibuprofin as needed during the day for other types of headaches.  I've not tried the OTC migraine meds in a really long time but back when I did take them they didn't really help.  Good luck with yours!

Try taking Excedrin for Migraines but you must take them as soon as you know the headache is coming.  My signal is my vision goes wacky so I take two tablets and poof no more wacky vision and no headache!!
