Gray hair
« on: April 08, 2014, 11:27:13 am »
Do you prefer to wear your gray or would you
Get it colored to hide the gray. I am 49 and I have
A lot of gray hair and thought I may want to
Stop getting my hair colored, but I quickly changed
Me mind. I guess I am not ready yet.

What do u think?

I say do what ever you feel like, because no one but you cares that much anyway. Not in a mean way, but I think people are just mainly focused on their selves for the most part. Now having said that, I do color my hair and have since I was 13 years old and now I'm 40. So I will probably continue to color it. lol

I am 46 and I do have a fair few greys. But I'm not ready to be grey yet so I color it a color that is not that dissimilar to my own natural color. I use two or three variations of the color so my hair is never one set color. It is a few different colors which makes it little bit more natural looking. I'm worried that at some point, at home hair coloring will not work for me anymore because I will have too much grey. But so far, it's working for me.

I am in my 60's and still some of my hair is dark brown with patches of gray. I don't eat fast food which causes high cholesterol, high blood pressure and many things that causes your hair to turn gray because of poor blood circulation. If you correct your blood circulation it is possible to get your color back I know because I did and my hair changed back but it took 2 years. People frequently ask me if I dye my hair and I tell them no. I hope this helps you.

I have been graying since I was 27.  I was buying hair dye (I prefer dark brown to black) and spoke to some women at my church.  They suggested I try a rinse; I can perm my hair the same day with the rinse, rather than waiting before I perm my hair when I use the dye.  I prefer to have some color than to walk around with gray hair.  My grandmother did the same when she was still here.  I recall her watching TV and she bought some Grecian Formula 16 to put in her hair.  The result was that she ended up with 20 different shades of red in her head.  ??? :rainbow:

I have some silver in my hair since I was bout 27, now almost 71 and it is almost all silver.   Have never colored my hair, Since I was dark haired the silver really shinned in the sunlight and I liked it. Earned every darn one of them. And am too old to change. Maybe if it had been a drab color of gray I might have.

My hair has been more than 50% gray for about 5 yrs now and I personally like the look, especially since my "gray" is more like a silver white.  I wouldn't change it for the world!!

top of my head and sides are white, there's some dark gray in the back.  I'd never go back to coloring it...just too many icky shades then there's the roots growing out ...ugh!

I do dye my hair, but only about every 3 months, when you really see the gray coming back in.  However, I only use the ammonia free type.

I dont have a gray hair yet because I'm still in my 30's. I have a very dark hair if I starts having gray hair in my early age I would rather dye it too.
