Books to read
« on: March 31, 2014, 08:31:19 pm »
I have just finished two books that I really liked.  One was by Anne Quindlen who has several novels but I had never read her books.  The one I just finished was "Still Life with Breadcrumbs" and I really liked it. Nice read and a character that I can really relate to.

The other was an English author, Tana French.  This was actually my third of her books.  It is Faithful Place.  She does really well on character development and love here Irish crime theme.

Anyone else have a good book to recommend?

I'm a member of Goodreads and I have a to-read list that's about 300 books long!

Ellen Hopkins is one of my favorite authors...
I loved the Hunger Games and Divergent trilogies...
I read Johnny Got His Gun in high school and I really want to re-read it...
Shutter island by Dennis Lehane and We All Fall Down by Robert Cormier were good too!

Love to read,,,,,   can't wait till summer comes so I can sit outside and read !!!!  I am a John Grishem fan.  Have read all but 3 of his books and I  have them ready for the summer to read.  I have also read the Hunger Games books,  all the twilight books,    Looking for some new authors to add to my collection,,,    :)

I'm like Dancer139, can't wait for sumner to be outside reading.  I love mystery books.  I don't have a favorite author, but belong to Barnes and Nobel and download the books on my nook.

I read all of the time, but I only read non fiction.  I have to many things I want to learn about to read for pleasure.  But that just me.

My going on 15 year old daughter was absolutely excited when she first saw the Divergent trailer, she said the books are awesome.

I have a list of self empowerment books and I'm currently working on Automatic Millionaire by David Bach and then I'm going to read for entertainment I'm Forever by Kiki Swinson.  I absolutely love reading  :in-love:

I was an avid reader as a young girl but quit reading anything during work and family rearing years but since I am on my own now I intend to start back.   I can't help out with recommendations but appreciate yours - I want to go back and read my two favorites which are Gone with the Wind (Margaret Mitchell) and Grapes of Wrath (John Steinbeck).  Your post has inspired me to get back into reading.

I can't think of the author just now but the book is " Six Years" and it was one of those books I just couldn't put down because I had to know what was going to happen next.
