I use the combo of both and borage. I find it helps some.

I'm not sure, fish oil gets talked about a lot more. They're both good for you though. I take flaxseed once in a while. I can't take it everyday though, or fish oil. It makes me break out.

I have never used flaxseed oil or fish oil but, from what I see on here, I will try them.  Sounds like a good deal.   :rainbow:

I prefer flaxseed oil. It doesn't have a bad aftertaste like fish oil sometimes does.

My household uses both too.  However I cook with ground flaxseed.  It's disguisable and I can throw it in anything.  My husband has been taking fish oil for years.  As my mother.  Recently we've been researching krill oil.  Supposedly it's safe?

Both!  I don't use the Flaxseed Oil, but I use Ground Flax in a lot of my baking and take Fish Oil.  Both are fantastic for your health, no reason to choose one or the other!  :)

Both are good I think... They both contain omega 3 oils (EPA and DHA)...  Not sure about flaxseed oil, but fish oil could give you fishy burps (unless its heavily capsulated)

Isn't krill oil better than fish oil?

I am not sure of which one is better for you, but I know my doctor put me on fish oil to help with cholesterol and my triglycerides to get them lowered now my cholesterol is right on but my triglycerides are down but the doctor wants it to go down another 200 points. I hope this helps.

I currently take fish oil  and flax seeds.  Although when I eat salmon or sardines I skip the fish oil.

What is or what does the flax seeds do for you?  I am just curious.  Does it come in a capsule or is it something you eat with food?

My sister is a dietician and she's said that fish oils are the best. Fish oils have EPA and DHA Omega-3 fatty acids which are the key ones to look for. Vegetable oils like flax seed oil contain ALA which the body can transform in small amounts to EPA and DHA, but because the body has to transform the ALA to the more active forms, it isn't as readily available as those found in the fish oils. However the fish oils tend to have a fishy taste / odor, so people tend to not want to take fish oil supplements. Ground flax seed can also be more easily added to actual dishes as well without providing an unpleasant taste. For example, my mom likes to put ground flax seeds on the top of her salad to give it a little different texture, get the omega 3's nutrition, yet all without detracting from the taste of the salad. @Blondie: you can purchase flax seed in either form: either as a suppliment (in which case it'll probably be flax seed oil capsules) or as a food (usually you can find it in bulk at a food co-op or in a box along with other dry goods near the baking aisle of a grocery store). It reminds me of wheat germ when found as a food (esp. the ground seeds), and can probably be incorporated as an alternative to that in recipes.

Flax seed oil most definitely. Don't like the after effects of the fish oil.
