shredding documents
« on: March 17, 2014, 08:23:31 am »
Shredding documents is not fun, but I am getting tired of all the old paperwork that's in this house. I have decided everytimes I sit down and watch tv I will schredd some documents since it's such a tedious task.

Do you have a lot of paper to get rid of?

I shred documents and sometimes it's a task. What I've started doing was tearing off parts of papers that are important (don't show, names, address, account #, and other personal info) and I stick that in the shredder and  put the unimportant part in the  recycling bin. I guess it's best to do this task regularly.

We recently moved and I shredded a LOT of junk.  Feels good to get rid of it all.

A couple of years ago, after moving here, I shredded several years of old paperwork.  Whew!  Now I put my paper to be shredded in my grill before it accumulates.  ;)

I just did that myself last week.  We have a basket that we throw all the "shreddables" in and then do it when it's full.  I found a great 5 gal hd shredder that seems to go for a good amount of time.   Used to burn the smaller ones out ... chuckle.

I do, but I don't have a paper shredder.  Right now, I just throw things away.  I usually tear it up in pieces.  I really need to get a paper shredder.

Why shredded? Why not burn them? That's what I do. I burn them in my bar-b-q grill or a
warmer grill.....

Yes  I do!. I shred them bit by bit. I don't shred heavy load of papers. I try to shed them every week instead of every month.

I really see the importance of a shredder.  Some people go to great lengths to get information.  I don't shred sorry to admit I am a hoarder.  I use all pieces of paper to jot down worthless information.  It might get thrown away a few months later, when I forget what that note was for.

At work we use shred bins, which saves a lot of the work doing this.  However, at home I use cross cut shredding machines, which are very noisy and tedious.  As the life expectancy of these machinese are poor I try to do only a little bit here and there, so it doesn't burn out too quickly.

We live way out in the country, so we burn our documents.
Have a wonderful day!

This is a task that I do not like to do myself. I do not want to just throw all of my mail and other documents in the trash. I would rather shred them. Eventually I do shred all of my unwanted paper work.
