There is nothing wrong with loving hello kitty...it's the word obsessed that got me....is your house hello decked out....I know a young lady who has her car hello kitty decked out....one day her dad was driving her car and it looked funny with hello kitty all around him.....do you....

There is nothing wrong or weird for a 40 year old woman to love Hello Kitty.  I wonder about your choice of the word obsessed.  Not just with Miss Kitty, but I feel being obsessed with anything like that is not good.

I don't see what difference it makes.  I know a woman who is like 20 and she is obsessed with anything Hello Kitty.  I know 40 is more than 20 but both are adults.

Why not?  After all there are worse things to be obsessed by.  At lease Hello Kitty is adorable and won't harm anyone or anything.

It seems to me that women who are crazy about cats tend to love anything that has a cat design regardless of their age.  That said, I suppose it depends on how far the obsession takes her-- for example, if she cooks pancakes to look like Hello Kitty, that could be over the top.

Depends on what you mean by 'obsessed' Does she just like Hello Kitty and has a few Hello Kitty items or is her entire house painted pink with Hello Kitty theme and she talking to a plastic surgeon about giving her cat ears.

Do you think it is normal for a 40 year old woman to be completely obsessed with Hello Kitty?  ???

The fact of being 40 has little to do with it, were all kids at heart.
Completely obsessed??? Since you asked, I would have to say no!

Yes, I do think it is normal.
Have you seen the Hello Kitty planes from Japan, the entire airlines is Hello Kitty.
Lots of people are obsessed with Hello Kitty, of all ages.    :)

It's your life, your mind. Enjoy what you like. It makes no difference what other people say or think.

I think the word "obsession" is pretty strong, though. That implies anxiety and having your mind uncontrollably seized by one thought. That would be problematic, don't you think?  :bad:
