If I had 5 million dollars, I'd still need something more and I think volunteering would probably fill the gap cause I think everyone needs to stay busy no matter how much money you have.

No i would still work but work on what i love to do instead of working for a company as a employee but first i would create a CD ladder that would ensure that the income continues coming in for the usually (bills, car, insurance, food, house, taxes, and entertainments) as forest gump said when he got rich "Thats just one less thing to worry about." :cat:

I would continue working, because I would invest some of that 5 million into promoting my business.  This is a good way not to fall victim to the lottery curse (being more broke within 5 years than you were before you won).

I don't work as of now and don't like the idea of a job, but also really don't like the lessened self-respect (thanks, society...) and income of not having a job. If I won 5 million dollars I'd put most of it in the bank, move out of my dad's house (but help him financially), do a lot of donating, buy the things I've been putting off getting because of a lack of funds, and also do some traveling, in the US and abroad.  :rainbow: :clover: :star:

You say you do not work and do not like the idea of having a job and then seem upset because society makes you feel bad about yourself because you do not work?  You do not mention being TRULY disabled.  You basically say you do not want to work.  Uh yeah, society as a whole is going to look down on that.  I have a cousin who is lazy and won't work.
She is worthless.  Actually, I know a lot of people who just refuse to work and expect to have everything handed to them.  Yes, that makes me really mad.

I do not believe in the lottery curse.  I do believe in stupidity.  People are stupid.  If you win a large amount of money you have to use your head.  I am not sure I would want the money in a bank where the bank could go broke or where the government could help themselves to it whenever they wanted to.

I don't know that I would want to win 5 million.  I would like to win enough to pay off my house and what little credit card debt I have.  But I would not want so much I would have to go into hiding to keep people from asking me for money all the time.  Amazing how many friends you would have when those same people don't care if you live or die right now.

I would definitely continue to work because otherwise I'd be way too bored.  It would be great to have money so I know I don't have to work to live, but that means I can spend more time doing work that's fun to me :)

Heck to the no on liking to work. I would put so much time into my health and family.  I would go back to school and take classes with absolutely no focus.  I would take art classes. If I grew bored I would create a company doing something that I liked. Time spent on charity would certainly be added to the mix. I would travel all around the world and spend a month in every new, interesting city I happened upon. I would get eight full hours of sleep every night! I would take my mother to Poland. I would spend time just thinking and creating.  I would spend timme getting reacquainted with how the light of day feels on my face.

I only work weekends in the summer time. I enjoy it and will continue to do it as long as I am able to.

I cannot retire because of the lack of funds. I like working at my special projects!

If I won 5 million dollars, I would pay off all of my debt, quit my job and do lots of traveling and I would fill my time with the things I love to do!

I like the CD ladder idea, that's my first hearing of it, but then again I'm still fairly new to investing.
