Day of the week to get married?
« on: March 02, 2014, 05:52:49 am »
I have heard that it's less expensive to get married on Fridays and Sundays....does evidence seem to support this idea?

I guess it depends on where you are going to be married at.  A Church,  Outside,  Country club ????and then where the reception is being held also.

Saturdays are the biggest days when places are booked the most (prices go up)  Fridays are a tad bit cheaper,,,  Sundays you would be a good option,,,,  a lot of places would be open to rent,,,  I don't believe I have ever been to a Sunday Wedding :)

Sounds like a winner in my book  !!!!!!

It would make sense. There is less demand for Friday and Sunday weddings, which would likely cause some prices of things to be lower.

I was married to my husband over 2 years ago.  I went to pick up our marriage license on a Wednesday, went to Bible Study and asked the pastor of our church to marry us.  We were married on a Thursday (November 3, 2011).  His cousin missed the wedding, so the only people there were my husband, the pastor, my daughter and me.  As thanks for marrying us, my husband gave the pastor $20 and told him to eat hearty.    :rainbow:

I would think a Friday or Sunday wedding would be less expensive as most weddings are Saturday.  I think it would probably be a lot easier to book a reception facility, band, etc. on those days.  I got married on a warm Saturday in September, but any day is a good day!

I was married on a Monday 14 years ago. Me and my husband got married at the justice of peace and that was cheap. We did that after we compared prices between places to have our wedding. It was cheaper to get married at the justice of peace.
