I eat at the food bank now instead of going to the grocery store... and I try to find sales. I only shop for clothing at garage sales.

LOL I always over spend at WalMart too. I go in for a few things and see "sales" and things I just have to have.  Now I try to only go with so much money on me b/c I know I'm not going to go all the way back home just to get a few dollars to overspend. If I still want it by the next time I go to WalMart I'll put it on my list.

I do my best to stay away from walmart. LOL!!

I use coupons and try to keep the heat turned down. Never buy clothes anymore except at the Goodwill or thrift store, I have been shopping at the dollar stores a lot. They have better food deals then grocery stores. I pay most of my bills online because it saves stamps and lots of places charged a processing fee for paper bills so I am saving on that.

not exactlly there are homes that are economic that cost less then an apartment & economic houses are small about 30 sqft for starters (about the size of an apartment) & the plus is you might be able to add a second floor (depends on the law) & most run off of solar panels (or electric magnetic generator) & the materials can be cheep to build one from the building recycle place or even sand bag house made out of sand bags filled with sand mixed with cement (its what they use in the military). Look up how to build a economic house also look up how to build a sand bag house (the problem is buying land but i figered that out by group splitting by simple math). Then theres buying a house and renting the rooms out so you yourself don't have to pay rent. (theres plenty of ways to alot cheeper home then an apartment tmi to give out on the subject) :cat:

Sign up for every free customer rewards program you can. Even if you rarely shop at that place, having a rewards card for that place will eventually net you some coupons and discounts. Here’s the basic game plan for maximizing these programs: create a Gmail address just for these mailings, collect every card you can, and then check that account for extra coupons whenever you’re ready to shop. :cat:

I shop at the thrift store.  I don't drive very much.  I don't eat out very much.  I go to the movies during the matinee, because the matinee is cheaper.  I buy items when they are on sale.

Air seal your home. Most homes have some air leaks that make the job of keeping it cool in summer and warm in winter that much harder – and that much more costly for you. Spend an afternoon air sealing your home. :cat:

Clean your car’s air filter. A clean air filter can improve your gas mileage by up to 7%, saving you more than $100 for every 10,000 miles you drive in an average vehicle. Plus, cleaning your air filter is easy to do in just a few minutes. :cat:

I go through my current spending and cut out anything and everything that isn't necessary to survive.

Master the ten second rule. Whenever you pick up an item in order to add it to your cart or to take it to the checkout, stop for ten seconds and ask yourself why you’re buying it and whether you actually need it or not.
Keep an idea notebook in your pocket.
Utilize online bill pay with your bank. :cat:

Probably the single best way to reduce expenses is to physically WRITE down your expenses and include EVERYTHING no matter how small. In a very few days you will identify where you are literally wasting money on things you really could have done without. Pennies add up pretty quickly when you eliminate the 'extras' that are often taken for granted.
I do this every month and also shop at dollar stores, hardly ever buy NEW clothes.
