I very seldom buy any meat that is not on sale and that goes for a lot of other things too.

O i also take the internet from a hot spot thats almost right next to the place im living at the moment (witch you can do with a trend net or net gear that has an external entenna & can read air pockets then make a can entenna (a cheep homemade gain entenna) & put it on a highest point & it'll read hot spots 4 miles away the down side its flakey due to weather and bandwidth because you will become a hot spots yourself) but free is free after all. Theres videos online that show you how to do step by step. :cat:

Dollar stores for anything that I can buy there. Cleaning products and make up or cosmetics are good to buy at dollar general. Especially if you have or find coupons. For food, I stick to a budget, write a list, look for good deals, and go to two different grocery stores. I wish I could cut back even more on food but I don't think it is possible. Especially without cutting back on nutrition or healthy food.

:) The wife and I go over every bill in detail and agree on what to cut out.  :) We also prevent debt by living within our income.

I drive my vehicles for decades. And I drive slow to conserve gas.  I plant a garden and dry, can, or freeze vegetables to eat all year. You can get a lot of produce from a small area, if you do the "square-foot gardening" method. We still have a dozen or so onions from last fall's harvest. I try to pay cash things.  Its SO much harder to shell out $100 in cash than it is to throw it on the credit card.

I have a stick shift and coast in neutral as much as possible.  Doing this allows me to average about thirty four miles to the gallon versus the duplicate car in our household(his and hers bought at the same time) averaging about twenty three miles to the gallon.  One of my many New Year's resolutions was to not eat in the company cafeteria. I was already frugal in that area (averaging about five visits per month) but I have cut it out completely which throws an extra twenty five to thirty dollars back into the household budget. I turn off every light in the house, unplug every appliance in the house that is not in use and have seen an average of about forty dollars per month in savings. I don't turn on the air conditioning until it gets over ninety degrees.

I changed all of my light bulbs to energy efficient and save about $15 per month. I don't have a contract on my cell phone but pay as you go. And most of the time I buy only what I need.

I only pay for things I know I need and I'll use.  I pay rent each month, I don't own a vehicle so I don't have a payment, insurance, maintenance or the cost of gasoline.  I pay for a basic landline with an answering machine so I can return calls I miss.  I often use coupons when I shop and I do my best to invest in healthy food and I simplify my life by getting rid of things so I won't have to rent a storage unit.  I also trim my own hair.

Have a great day!

I have straight talk phone service and I limit spending on anything other than bills.  I eat out only 3-6 times a month with a spending limit of $7- $15 and I'm shutting down my cable when I relocate and looking into other options.

Looking for coupons can be fun, but make sure you only buy the things you would normally get anyway.  It also really helps to not eat out if you're trying to save... besides, it can be fun to cook at home and try new things :)

I agree! I love our Dollar Tree so much it's one of the reasons I contemplate going against my plans and not moving out of state sometimes lol
