Washing Dishes
« on: February 22, 2014, 10:04:20 am »
When i do dishes when guests, neighbors, or family comes by i always get asked why i do it the way i do.. I don't understand this because i figured there is no right or wrong way to do dishes..So.. I am wondering.. Is there some kind of secret method to dishes i don't know about that everyone does?

All i do when i do dishes is I rinse with hot water..
Make my water up put soap in it..
Then let the dishes soak or wash them up
Rinse again
Put on drying board to dry..
My friend tells me she just puts hers in the sink and lets them soak then rises them dryes them and puts em away.. I don't see nothing wrong with her way.. I think everyone has a right to wash dishes how they please..
My neighbor tells me she just puts hers in the washer and is done with them.. Don't see nothing wrong with her way either..
But i still perfer my method :D

I like your method better who really wants to wash dishes in dirty water (only soak if it calls for it if you ask me like something heavy that is hard to get out) To me it's kinda waste because if you let them soak them wash u leave the chance and opening of not getting everything off the dishes the first time

I just put them in the dishwasher and wash them all at once after dinner and it saves water/detergent.

I think your way of washing dishes is just fine... I never thought people would actually comment on each other's techniques haha.  As long as your dishes aren't dirty when they're done, do whatever you're doing!

Usually how dishes are done is a preference not that you are doing it wrong. I prefer to dry  mine though they look so pretty and spot free.

My method is similar, I let them soak in soap and hot water, wash them then put them in a dish rack to dry.

I say wash your dishes however you want - I read online once that you wash in hot water and rinse in cold but that is the only thing I do different  - also since I am alone now I don't wash anything I can use a paper version of lol.

I don't see anything wrong with your method.  I wash mine pretty much the same way.  As long as they're clean, they shouldn't worry about how you clean them.

As long as the dishes get cleaned I can't see any problems with a particular method that accomplishes the task.

I don't have any secret.  As long it's clean to me.  But I use to do my way, so when other do the way I don't like, I rather do it myself. :)

I guess I never really thought about this one.  The way I do them depends on how many I have, how much time I have and how dirty they are.  If there are just a couple of plates from lunch, they usually go in the sink till dinner dishes are ready to be their friends.  I usually load up the dishwasher and do what ever won't fit in there after dinner at night.  If I am home, I do the breakfast dishes right away.  Fill the sink with hot soapy water, wash dishes, rinse and dry in the drainer.

Really? We're talking about how to do dishes. Really??? Just get them clean. It doesn't really matter how, does it?  ::)

Well, at least it's a stimulating and thought-provoking question.  ;)
